Requiem For CAZ 45

The Dr Z CAZ-45 is no no longer being offered. This is just another example of what the amp can sound like. The Wampler Pantheon pedal was used to add a little high end "zing" to the guitar, to sound a little more like a traditional strat to me. Thanks for watching!
Song is Los Lobotomies Never Walk Alone, live recording you can find on YT.

First as always excellent playing Adam, great ending solo. You have always produced great tones from the CAZ 45 and this is a fitting video for the end of the production run of the CAZ. I will always be very proud of the CAZ design.

Thanks Mike, and you should be proud of the design. I don't have another amp anything like it for sure. 🙏

RIP CAZ! So glad I got one👀❤️ Been really enjoying it (against recommended settings) with my tele, with the sensitivity at 9 o'clock and the gain around 2 o'clock. Aggression above noon or more. Such a wonderful and diverse amp. The aggressive tones are monstrous and tight, and the effects loop is amazing. I find the cleans that are hiding in it to be incredible personally. Now i just need a Z-80 and a Z-28 mkII and I think I will have all the amp tones I could ever want😂

I have to mess with your clean settings. All the Z's are great, I think.

@@AdamGotheridge *guitar volume rolled off a bit on that setting for those cleans ❤️. I'm using pedals with this setting as well. Allows me to turn up guitar volume for dirt (as advertised) but not the extreme sounds the CAZ is capable of/known for.

@@AdamGotheridgeactually looking at it today 😄. sensitivity is actually a smidge above 9. That control really jumps up in volume right above 9 o'clock on mine. And gain is actually a 3 o'clock. Level to taste of course

@@AdamGotheridgeI may have just scored the last one. Had to ship it from Thailand. I am from the pacific so used is likely impossible for me. Glad to see one left that would ship to me though! Thanks for all the great tones Adam. I’m hyped for it

Of course! It's a Luke 3. Extremely well built guitar. Really small neck, not a lot of sustain (maybe because of the 2 point bridge). Active pickups (battery), there's a pot in it to balance the volume of the single coils against the humbucker, and another pot to adjust the amount of boost on the push/push volume pot. Whammy stays in tune incredibly well. It's really purpose built for what Lukather needs in a guitar to cover the stuff he needs to cover, and probably fits his hands like a glove. It doesn't really have the organic "soul" of a strat or Les Paul, but it covers a lot of ground in one instrument.
