Simply boring and unoriginal. Too sad that the great city of Beirut has also to be featured in such a title. Beirut will never die.

Interesting observation. I came here after I read about it in Wikipedia. It says: "In 2013, Khalifé performed original music inspired by the Arab Spring called Requiem for Beirut at the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and the MDR Leipzig Radio Choir." So the question is whether it was a requiem for the Arab Spring. And in this case it makes sense. Did he replace 'Arab Spring' by Beirut? Lebanon didn't even experience the Arab Spring, if I am correct. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rami_Khalif%C3%A9#Career

Loved it! Part of Beirut died on Aug 4, 2020...and before that, we all died a little with the war.
