Omg .... my life. This song is so often what I play to be at peace with myself, which is quite frequent. And to top it off, an awesome solo with the guitar (bad sound effects for such an awesome solo) you should fix that. THEN THE SONG IS PERFECT FOR ME.

Your voice, the way you play the trumpet, is a mirror to your soul reflecting our own souls, to a feeeling of loss and then at the later stages of Beirut of anger, an explosion of rage and defiance at all the injustices. Beirut is Aleppo, is Gaza, is Mariupol, is every place torn by senseless wars. You're extraordinary Ibrahim Maalouf , bravo.

Le souffle est chaud et le pianiste qui l'accompagne de façon lancinante et harmonieuse offre un moment remarquable !!! Magnifique duo pour finir avec l'orchestre en apothéose ! Ibrahim Maalouf est probablement le meilleur trompétiste de ce siècle. Je l'ai vu au Festival Django Reinhardt à Fontainebleau la ville où j'ai grandi et de passage pour voir la famille j'ai assisté à ce moment énorme. Pourtant je ne suis pas branché très jazz mais il a réussi à me transporter juste en me posant sur mon canapé et en fermant les yeux j'ai fais pété le son.

Absolument magnifique ,cet effet écho est surprenant, quel talent .

une douceur pour les oreilles et une caresse pour l'âme. ..

J adore sa façon sensible et novatrice de faire sonner sa trompette, je suis transportée au Mot en Orient immédiatement, sensualité des notes caressantes, plainte douce, nostalgie, Beyrout quand tu me tiens! J aime infiniment !

Mais je kiffe ce ga. Découvert il y a un moment déjà. Mais depuis son concert du 12/05. Je ne peux me passer de découvrir l'ensemble de ses œuvres. Une discographie à tomber. Mais quel talent et quel artiste fabuleux. Un Homme simple sans prétentions aucunes. ❤

je suis tombée par hasard sur Ibrahim le 28 juillet pour le 40 ième anniversaire de jazz in Marciac. Le choc. L'émotion intégrale!

Quelle belle transition vous êtes la fusion fantastique comme celle atomique, à 11 min et 24 entre la guitare, le larsen et la trompette, vous nous éblouissez comme les 7 boules de cristal, de part les 7 couleurs et les 7 notes musicales.merci

Ibrahim is intense, and so is his guitar player! Wowowow!

Jazz with Arabic scales, just the perfect blend to feel both influences, yet it is its own thing. Masterful... And one day there is hope that wind instrument make a real comeback in rock ;)

I haven't cried over music in a long time

Only recently discovered Ibrahimm Maalouf (reminded about him by the New York Times report from his gig at Dizzy's 26 May 2015 in New York. What is special here in addition to the music is that we get to see much more clearly his use of the quarter-tone valve and in some places to hear the quarter tone phrases that except for his trumpte playing father are unique in the trumpet world.

Ibrahim and his dad Nassim have certainly done a lot of superb, wonderful work with the 1/4 tone trumpet. It's not quite accurate to say that it's just the two of them, though. I did a gig in Tyre about 20 years ago in which another of Nassim's students, who was a member of the Lebanese National Symphony Orchestra, had such a trumpet. Also - it's not quite the same thing, but we shouldn't forget that Don Ellis was experimenting in this direction in the 1960s. None of this takes anything away from Ibrahim and his wonderful art, though!
