Part of the argument is that in your 28-year-old life, you have never been 81. But the 81 year old has been 28. True, some of them don't remember what that was like. But many of them do, and they also know what comes after that. People like Joe Biden care about your 28-year-old life in a way that most other 28-year-olds do not, exactly because they have been there, and know how life will morph for you in the next decade, just as it has morphed for you since you were 18. I agree that Alyssa speaks for many young people like yourself, but there is a perspective that age brings that you cannot know until you are there, and often that is a desire to provide the best possible opportunities for young people to have the most successful lives possible. Their age can give them the wisdom to understand how to do that. Are there specific things that Biden has done in his dotage that are not in your best interest? Because I would argue the biggest errors he has made in his career were when he was a younger politician.

It's not that we don't value age or wisdom or experience. We just want the people controlling our country to be mentally capable of doing it. All political leaders' health should be scrutinized, no matter the age, but to say that age shouldn't be a factor we consider is just living life with blinders on. There's such a dissonance on the panel that the only young person there is also a conservative. It's odd for me to say but Alyssa speaks for a lot of the young generation here on our concerns about representation and the ability of our leaders.

As a Latino yes I understand that we value and highly respect our elders as part of our culture… that doesn’t mean we expect them to be president or perform in a high stress job in the highest capacity. With age comes mental decline and that’s just a fact of life and common sense. I see nothing wrong or controversial with what Nikki Hailey said.

I would point out that Patty Murray who is the Senior US Senator from Washington, First Female President Pro Tempore of the US Senate, and Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, has been in the Senate since 1993, and won re-election in 2022 with 57% of the Vote despite being 72 and has one of the highest approval ratings of any senator. So it really is just about how well can you do the job.

Democrats are a lot more open to a primary challenge, and folks have tried, but she is so well liked that she's beaten every primary challenge. Same can't totally said for Dianne Feinstein for example, who only won her election in 2018 against another Democrat with 54% of the vote.

We need wisdom. But I think if your brain is not functioning properly at any age, we should be able to remove people or request them to step down. And the doctors that check these people out need to be non-political and make their reports strictly based on their medical expertise.

This is not ageism. This is a health issue. Sunny needs to wake up. He is declining. Feinstein is declining. We definitely need a test to see if these ppl are able to continue to serve.

Sarah was the only one with the right view. Give everyone competency tests around the board. If we want great leaders, we have to make sure they are great. I’m tired of incompetence in leadership. It needs to end.

Oh, some people deserve it.

Kamala is not ready, just because she is the first women and first black VP doesn't mean she's next in line to run after Biden. We are not excited by her and she will not win at the top of the ticket. I'll vote for her as VP again, I'd also vote for her over any republican but idk that she can win.

After watching Sunny's conduct go down hill year after year, see her make racist and hypocritical remarks and flat out lie to our faces, I'm not about to take her advice on who is a "bad person". Vivek should sue.
