    I'm just waiting for them to put REX pearl on this core and call it the IQT-REX😂😂

    That might make the ball worse or a game changer you never know infact that would be interesting

    I actually think now there's a "the road" with rex.... the iqtrex is probably in the pipeline

    I like what Luke said about paying attention to what the ball is doing vs rev rate and speed.

    There's a ton of IQ being used in my leagues, with that said most of them are the Emerald, Tour, and a few Golds. But now and then theres some Ruby's in the mix

    I recently ordered a Ruby for myself. I've seen a few fellow two handers have some success with this ball at my house (same one as Greater Ozarks). This will be my first IQ of any type, rounding out the bottom of my bag.

    It looks really good at both Enterprise and Sunshine.

    I blend speed / revs into a straighter shot from middle/right, and had success with my DV8 thug life years ago and got a 300 with it. Getting back into bowling now, and need a bowl that will let me stay that line.

    The 900 Global Eternity acts a lot like the Thug Life used to, might take a look at it.

    I had the emerald and I got the Ruby as a replacement. The Ruby is waaay stronger than the emerald but I think that’s a good thing because the emerald had a hard time getting around corner when I moved left. Ruby hasn’t left my league bag since I bought it. It’s the only pearl ball I bring/need for league.

    Yep, this was our thought too, Ruby definitely stronger, and that extra punch down lane also gives it a bigger usability window.

    I noticed that your reaction is typically directly related to how the ball goes through the pins, if it strikes but deflects you still have a disappointed look, but if it drives but leaves a 4 pin you shrug it off, Am I wrong?

    It just comes down to understanding ball motion and your execution. Just because a shot strikes, doesn't mean it was a good shot

  • @LukeRosdahl

    @LukeRosdahl

    10 ай бұрын

    Yeah typically if I don't get it off my hand the way I wanted to, it'll labor and deflect, which isn't going to strike most of the time, I'd rather throw it good because I'll carry more consistently on good shots than I will on bad ones. I tell people that sometimes when bad shots still strike, "2 wrongs don't make a right, but apparently 3 do." People don't pay nearly enough attention to HOW they throw the ball. Sometimes you can hit what you're aiming at but throw it badly, and it drives me nuts when someone dumps a ball, it leaves the obvious flat corner and they're mad because "I hit my mark!" How you throw the ball is often times much more important than where you throw it, especially on a house shot. A lot of these shots where I trip something, it was a good quality shot that makes the pins more lively.

    Does anyone know where to find the storm step 2 compound? If not, what's the equivalent?

  • @LukeRosdahl

    @LukeRosdahl

    9 ай бұрын

    It's been discontinued, something equivalent would be Brunswick's Crown Compound. Storm has the new rough edge and smooth edge compounds, but staffers can't get them yet so I don't know what the story is on them at this moment

    My friend/coach gave me his IQ Ruby because he was transitioning into using 14 pounds. I really really like this ball. I shot my high game of 279 with it where I had the back 11. For me it is also at the bottom of my bag, specifically when there is an abundance of friction. Some of the most fun I have bowling is throwing this thing when there is lots of friction. I had the insane sensation when I first was throwing it on crispy lanes, it was like sucking up all that friction and then just used it in an almost magical punch through the pins. I also have shot multiple 9 pin no tap 300s on high friction lanes with the IQ Ruby. It’s part of my league bag as a step down from my shiny Idol Cosmos, and I couldn’t imagine going to a tournament without it. (Wouldn’t I make a great staffer guy?)

    Yep, that's where she likes to start them out. A little smoother and more consistent than with shine, but not as early and strong as having more surface.

    Which ball do you think is better on the burn, the ruby or the Hy-Road pearl, the HRP has more RG, but the ruby has very low dif. I'm 2 hander righty with a rev rate around 500, I trust your opinion so I'm curious to see which one you like more/feel is better for burn

  • @LukeRosdahl

    @LukeRosdahl

    10 ай бұрын

    The HRP. The HRP having a higher RG means it isn't going to start rolling or hooking as early, plus it's got a higher diff, so it's better at going long and being sharp and covering boards, which is most of the time what you need when you have to get deep on the burn

  • @gc3-

    @gc3-

    7 ай бұрын

    @@LukeRosdahl what if you’re super rev dominant? Would that make the higher diff a liability, or is the answer “throw it faster” in that case😂

  • @LukeRosdahl

    @LukeRosdahl

    7 ай бұрын

    @@gc3- Yes and no, it might actually help with some stability, because more flare/diff doesn't just mean more backend or flip, it also means more ball seeing the lane earlier too, so that can help get some traction and blend. Being super rev dominant makes just about anything reactive a liability tho lol.

  • @Cob6

    @Cob6

    Does the HRP have enough versatility to last a while late in the block, or would something like a Hustle be better?

  • @LukeRosdahl

    @LukeRosdahl

    5 ай бұрын

    @@Cob6 Yeah, if the HRP starts being even too much, you're just out of luck. Hustles are more like slightly weaker IQs, not great for chasing it deep later in a tournament.
