Years ago had a odd job: cutting a hundred steel wall truck tractor tires into smaller pieces and removing them from their rims. Had the same power tools as you, plus more, and had the same issues where none worked ideally. In the end I found that using an extendable bypass lopper to be the fastest & easiest way to get the tire off the rim and cut the rubber into small pieces. It was faster. There was no smoke. No tools vibrating like crazy. and overheating Just snip snip snip. The steal in your rubber is thicker so it would probably be the end of the loppers for you. Something to consider in the future.

@@dhenschel4 maybe not needed. Passive heating/cooling through inefficient ducts can be improved upon. Sealing seams and insulating ducts is a low cost diy project. Just duct tape the seams/connections and wrap with flexible insulation wrap. Depending on the use of the basement add ducts as desired. This sealing and insulation provides efficiency and accuracy of the hvac. To each his own.
