Replacing this old sinking brick walkway

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Replacing this old sinking brick walkway - This old walkway was sinking because of drainage issues. We installed a new Techo Bloc paver patio at a higher elevation and extended the downspouts away from the house.

Wow, that looks nice! Glad to see the trip hazard is gone. It really improved the curb appeal!

Beautiful work! I would strongly suggest using concrete for your border restraint. It’s a fraction of the cost, and holds up much better than the plastic edging.

Great job brother. How come you don’t use mortar for the edging instead of the plastic?👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thanks man, I've had issues with grass not growing back over the concrete edge. The plastic seems to hold up as long as its backed by dirt.

Hi, there should be at least 6 inches of foundation exposed to prevent damage to the structure

That would be ideal, but the grading of his front yard would not allow it. Previously the dirt came all the way up to the bottom of the siding. Now there's about 1.5 - 2" gap so it's definitely an improvement. Thanks for the comment

Nice work! Could you explain what you did with the downspout extensions? Looked like they just terminated in the middle of the lawn. Thanks!

Thank you, yes we put in pop up drains in the middle of the yard. The yard has a good pitch from this point to the street.

Great job, however, you need to be using a concrete edge on open graded bases. Those spikes are not capable of toeing in pavement with open graded base.
