Replacing the Spotbot's Hose
Replacing the Spotbot's Hose - The hose on my Spotbot cracked near the handle and now it has to be replaced (or buy a new Spotbot). The process is simple if you have seen someone do it so join me as I swap out the damaged hose for a new one.

Thank you so much for this video! I replaced my hose by myself. But this is 2024 and my new one was over $30. Better than a whole new machine.
Thanks for this video. Replaced my hose without removing the plug on the top and it was easy to do. The small plastic spray hose was hard to get on so I just soaked it in hot tap water for 30 seconds and it went on like butter. Hope this helps for someone else.

Would have been much more frustrating without the hot water trick. Thank you!
This video helped me replace my broken hose in no time. Thank you Dollar!
Thank you. The exacto knife was key!
Your video was shot well, covering your process to where I could understand things easily. Thanks for taking the time to do this video and share it on YT. My Spot Bot Pet is now back to normal and ready to clean up after my puppy again.

Glad it helped. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for the video! I appreciate the tip about putting the cleaner container upside down. That leak is annoying.
Thank you- awesome instructions- I was able to switch out my hose quickly and keep my spot bot! 🙌🙌👍
Thanks so much for this video. I was able to repair our spot bot and convince my husband that ours works just fine and we don't need to buy a new one. 😊
Just replaced mine. It worked out great because of this video. Thank you!!
Than you for posting this video, made swapping the hose out very easy!! Have A Great Day!!!!!!
Thank you! I am cleaning the house now. All the info was super helpful and you did a great job explaining the processes and the camera work was steady. :)
You saved me a hundred bucks. Thank you!!!
Hardest part was removing the little hose. Appreciate the video! I had ordered the hose, and it arrived without instructions. I was able to fix it thanks to your video.
Thank you so much!! I’m not overly handy but your instructions were right on and got me to the repair. Perfectly said-

Thank you for your comment! I'm glad it helped.
Hey, just wanted to say thank you for posting this video, helped me out a lot. Also, thank you for the tip on turning the reservoir over... I like to think I'm a SMart Feller, but sometimes the SM and F get reversed. I don't think I ever would have figured out to turn that thing over.

I've never had to turn ours over. Do you have a leaking problem, or some other reason to turn it over?
Awesome tutorial, used it to replace my hose today like a charm!
Thanks so much. Simple enough but always great to see something before taking it apart!
Very clear camera work & easy to understand. Thanks
I called a repair place and he was going to charge $25 for the hose assembly and $80 for labor because you have to "disassemble the whole thing" and said in his opinion it wouldn't be worth it. Yeah, no joke! He obviously hasn't seen your video. I am a DiY'er when it comes to certain things and I'm going to give this a shot. So glad I stumbled upon this video, can't thank you enough! Update 10-28-21 -- I received the part today and installed it in less than 10 minutes (thanks also for the tip from commenter Kim Kayzer who suggested soaking the small hose in hot water)! Wow, these are times when I really love the Internet. What a great community!! I ended up spending a total of $17 and picked up other tips from commenters here. For example, I hadn't ever used the handheld attachment to soak up the excess water left on the carpet, just a few towels. I feel like such an idiot 🙄it works like a charm!
Well that's just an absurdly easy repair if you have the right hose and know how to twist it. Took like 5 minutes. Thanks for posting this.
Thanks for the great video. Followed along and it worked perfectly.
Excellent video. Thank you!
Thank you! Got mine changed out very quickly with your tutorial.
Had a crack in my Spot Bot hose in the exact same location (they should make 'em longer or more flexible). Mine was a bear to get in but your video helped immensely. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. Thank you also for the "turn the tank upside-down to avoid leaks" tip. Don't know why, but I never thought to do that. Very much appreciated!

Great tutorial - very clear. Thanks!
This was very helpful! Thank you for posting this.
This video was perfect! I actually thought I had the wrong hose until I saw you take it apart. Thank you for posting- currently getting some spots done😊 and my hose broke in exactly the same place.
Thank you for this! My 10 year old Spotbot pet edition hose broke in the usual place yesterday, and I was debating between buying a new hose or buying a fancier new machine (which isn't really in the budget right now) so looked around to see how hard the hose would be to replace. New hose now ordered, and thanks to you, I'm sure I ordered the correct one.
Thanks. Saved my spotbot. I did the hot water trick as well.
Thank you, your video was very helpful and easy to follow 👍🏼
Thank you! This was great!
Thank you so much for posting this. Cutting off the little hose worked out really well. It took me all of 10 minutes to do this with your help!

@@DollarDIY Me too. We had cat wars for awhile. Now we are helping our daughter with her new puppy.
Thanks for the help! My hose broke in the exact same spot... Got the replacement part today!
Very helpful, you fixed it in about 10 minutes. I'm not so intimidated now👍
Excellent video. Probably took me 15 minutes and all to complete. I had a little difficulty putting on the small plastic tube so I applied a little bit of heat from a hairdryer in a few seconds later it slipped on.

Thank you so much for this video -- I'm on my 2nd spot bot pet and just couldn't swing a 3rd. I'm very grateful for the time you put in to make this video and your willingness to help others. :) Thank you as well for the link. :)

Thank you again! I did it! Your video was Fabulous! I never disconnected the wiring & it worked out fine. Knock on wood, my pet spotbot will serve me well for many more years to come!
Thank you! This was a big help!
Thanks for the great video!
Excellent! Thank you so much!
Thanks for this!
Great video - saved me $$. thanks!
Thanks, this was very helpful!! I don’t have trouble with mine leaking, I wonder if there is a washer you could replace? Also my cord “wrap” turns for easy removal of cord without manually unwrapping...just a helpful hint if anyone’s also works that way. Thank you for posting!!
Outstanding!! Thank you. (Most things are simple to do if you know how and now I do.)
Thank you so much!
Thanks so much!!
You are so easy to understand, can you please do one for the bissel spot clean (the purple colored one) instead if the spotbot. Thank you
Excellent video. Had no idea the process was so involved. Thanks!
Thank you! Incredibly easy to follow along. I wouldn’t recommend trying this replacement while keeping that cable bus (computer cord) attached. I’d worry about stressing that cable while trying to get at everything. Break one of those internal connections and you’re really hosed. (Pun intended.) Thanks again!
Great job..thx
Do you have the exact Amazon link for this hose replacement?
Any advice on cleaning the hose?
Thanks! This video was very helpful. I wouldn't have attempted the repair without your help. It was very easy to understand! I watched it once all the way through and bought the Bissell marked part and it came in an envelope from B & M Housewares. It looked great. Once it arrived I stopped and started your tutorial with each step. Through no fault of your teaching or my work, the new part leaks at the part where hose becomes part of the "s" shaped plastic piece before it goes into the machine. Sigh! hose itself isn't leaking from what I can see but a part of the grey plastic part does as soon as the power stops. Inside of the machine is nice and dry, it only leaks at the one area but it just keeps draining the hose. I'm torn between spending another $16.00 and trying again or giving up and getting a brand new machine. SIGH! I guess I'll see what sort of guarantee there is but not sure that it's worth the effort to call and return it in case the same thing happens. Anyway.....Thanks again for the easy to understand video. YOU are great!

I’m glad I could help in some way. If you got the hose from Amazon I would try to return it. A lot of times they will send you a new part without requiring you to return the damaged one. Best of luck!
thanks!
Thanks for this, but how did you disconnect that white cable? I had to replace the latch and could not get it off.

Hi. I removed the clear tube at the 5:00 mark. Just pinch the tube clamp and slide it up the tube then you slice the tube carefully so it slips of the connect. The new hose should come with a new clear tube installed and clamp.
Just called Bissell and they said it couldn't be done. Do you know the part number of the hose for model # 21143?

Here’s the info on the hose on Amazon: Bissell Hose & Handle, Model: 33N8 & 78R5, 2037478 www.amazon.com/dp/B005M4APMM/ref=cm_sw_r_em_api_i_HM1FTK2S5MNKB0PE5A1S?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I had a spotbot 78R5, are the instructions the same? Thank you

They should be the same. The older ones have different hoses. When you buy it they should list the model numbers that work on it.
Do you know the actual part number?
@DollarDIY

The part number is 2037478. Make sure it shows your model as being compatible as there are different versions. Mine model number is 33N8.
19$ as of 2023
Such a poor design
Can you add an amazon link to the replacement hose or product number for the hose in your info section?
