Replacing solenoids on hydraulic valve

Ғылым және технология

I demonstrate the replacement of solenoids on control side of the valve bank. Of course I am in a shop doing this on the bench, however listen to my words and follow along. Details make a huge difference.
Thanks for watching everybody!

Thank you for the video Mike. I am about to reseal a 90 valvebank from a logmax head, do you find you like to put a little grease on the orings when you install them or not? If you use grease what kind do you recommend? Thanks again.

just hydraulic oil is fine. if you use a grease it should be a transmission assembly grease, it dissolves rapidly when subjected to oil.

Great video. Wondering if you ever lube the o rings before installing to prevent damage.

What would cause the coils to overheat on these solenoids?

I need to work on my timbco 425 buncher Vickers valve bank. main and stick boom have no power when it gets warm. The kit cost 950.00 for orings and gaskets from timberpro. 👍 advice.

Solenoids with replaceable coils make things a lot easier but half the time they are so rusted you can't get them apart and end up replacing both anyway. during winter maint we try to remove coils and put dielectric grease on the stems to prevent rust. Thanks

I've never worked with that style I've always used the slide over magnetic that rust effects and most aren't serviceable so they get you by making you buy and replace whole block.

YOU NEED TO PUT SOME A LIGHT OIL ON THE O=RINGS BEFORE INSTALLING THEM, NEVER INSTALL ANY O-RING WITH OUT IT. YOU WILL ETHER CUT IT OR DAMAGE IT IN SOME WAY PUTING IT IN DRY LIKE THAT,, ops caps.. that was drilled in to our heads in tech school some 40 years ago, also all instruction tell you the same. same thing with piston packing..
