For those of you wondering what he capped off, they are transmission oil cooler fittings for Automatic celicas. Dont waste time or money on that, they are just coolers, as long as nothing comes in one side of the cooler, nothing will come out the other end. Coolant doesnt pass through it so it's okay leaving it alone

Are you 100 percent sure nothing comes out of those lines? I’m about to drop a new one in and it has those lines coming out. I don’t want to throw it in and it starts leaking out those lines. 😂

actually I think there power steeringcooling lines .. have the same exact car and those rust out supper fast so when u get a new radiator Toyota thought of just throwing them on the radiator. also a transmission and a power steering pump can take the exact same fluid like I run trannies fluid in my power steering right now . and I have a stander 1.8 L celica gts 2002 and atleast that's what I think .. the old lines make 0 sence if u look them up . lol

You mentioned the plastic nipple that goes from the radiator to the reservoir broke. Can that be fixed or is that why you are replacing the radiator? Mine just broke during a routine coolant drain & refill.

I did the same exact shit a couple days ago. I know you can plastic weld it back on but might as well just get a new one for 60 bucks off of rock auto. I realize you commented this a year ago did you replace it or weld it back on?

I just replaced the whole radiator. It wasn’t a terribly difficult job. Also, I figured if the plastic was brittle enough to break from that small disturbance, it would have sprung a leak or broken while I was driving at some point.

BLS36 Gotcha that’s what i’m in the process of doing right now. But I accidentally recycled one of the bottom bushing to support the radiator and it’s been tuff trying to find a new one.

If it were me, I would just go to my local Toyota Parts Dept and order a replacement bushing. Since you still have one left, you can use it as an example to cut yourself a replacement out of a rubber jack puck or something similar. Auto parts stores would be another option since they sell generic bushings. As long as you get a similar one, it will function just fine.

It doesn't look like you jacked the car up for this job. However, I noticed the lower plastic underbody covers were removed. Did you take them off to do the job or do you just always ride around like that?

  • @-----------_-

Czar Corey Yeah mine is lined too. My mechanic said that's mainly fire retardant and stuff like that. Unfortunately most of mine has been eroded. I spray all the suspension subframe, brake lines, etc. Basically anything that can rust lol
