Replacing Pressure Switch on Porter Cable Air Compressor

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hello,
In this video I am replacing the Pressure Switch in my Pancake Air Compressor. It started leaking air where the terminals are epoxied into the back of it.
Do all repairing at your own risk, this is just what I did to replace mine. Your model may be different as well so make sure you check that first so you can purchase the correct parts.
I got my parts from eReplacementparts.com and it came with detailed instructions.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for your time and hopefully this will help in some way,
Steve

Great job! This worked perfectly for my Craftsman Version as well (same part number you provided.) My T-15 Torx driver was also too short for the one screw, so I picked up a 10 piece 6" long security set from Amazon for about $16.00 (including tax). Nice to be prepared for the next time.

It helped me to put a dap of CA glue on the rubber isolation pads to keep them in place. They kept falling off and really pissed me off many times trying to put the housing back together.

A very detailed review of not only changing the pressure switch but of cracking that case open. What a job that was putting it back together. As I've watched your re-install I see I screwed up on putting the case back together. I also had to install a new pressure regulator and the previous owner had reconfigured the regulator hose fitting at 90° s to the case, so installed a 90 to keep the hose from crimping. The one tip I'd like to add to your very thorough video, is to go to an auto parts store and pickup 5/16 screw down style (radiator) clamps verses the crimp on style clamps. Excellent video

Thanks for the tip. That is probably cheaper and less money than the stock clip. I wonder why they used a 90° fitting? Maybe it was just a better angle for the hose to come off the tank. Thanks for watching, Steve.

Man, this platform has really gone to the dogs. Good vid though, I hope you actually get to keep some of the money that google rakes in for home made blue collar vids like this one.

What style and size tool needed to remove the black plastic gauge bezel? I've tried every allen wrench with no luck. The hole is too small to use my T style, my T style has 1/4" shank, too big to fit in plastic bezel hole!
