How did you bend the copper line so nicely?

It's a lot better to get a wire wheel that you put in a drill to clean the threads.

Air shouldn't be leaking from tank and then through the compressor head. The check valve is an issue if that's the case. The usual issue where air is blowing out the intake is the gasket is blown out or the reed valves are not seating.

I disassembled my switch and now cannot get it installed. I understand how it goes together, have gotten it put together but when I try to install it cannot because the pressure applied to keep it together cannot be retained through the installation. Very frustrating. Spent 2 hours already out of stubbornness. I would love to see how it is done. So far all these vids only show the installation of an already assembled unit. Looks like I will have to buy new.

Yes, it is definitely recommended to start with a new pressure switch. I too have tried to fix an old one, (I feel your pain!) but as you can see, for the time it takes it is more feasible to buy a new switch.

I know this is an old thread but here’s your answer. When you disassemble the switch the spring pressure will now allow you to screw it back into the metal bracket which would then hold it together. I wrapped a piece of fine gauge wire around the switch assembly and twisted it tight. This held it all together so I could screw the switch back into the metal bracket. Once installed, I loosened the screws just enough that I could cut my wire and pull it out from under the switch. Retighten the screws and your done. It took less than 5 minutes to put it together.

@@gvanmaat Yea, I got so frustrated I simply bought another. probably the goal of the design engineer. Thanks for answering anyway, maybe it will help someone else.

No check valve on that tank? I would have scrapped that fitting to the tank and used a 3 nipple check valve.

Anyome watching this. Please just buy new connectors. 20 bucks maybe. If its showing corrosion already it's just going to get worse. Then you're going to have trash in your lines. Do something. Do it 100% right. Then you safe youself time and money down the line

There's no point in putting sealant on the threads of that small copper pipe. As that pipe uses a compression fitting to seal.
