Replacing leaky Lewmar hatch hinge seals

Комедия

I had a drip coming in from my Lewmar hatch hinges so I ordered some new ones, less than a fiver on ebay, today I fitted them, it took much longer than 7 minutes but was really easy, just time consuming.

Paul, thanks for this video - it was exactly what I needed to see in order to fix my leaky hatches. Thanks for taking the time to film this and post it

I am about to do mine, but I will use butyl tape instead of a gasket, because I have it, and in Australia is hard to get anything from Lewmar

I'll be interested how it goes, I like to use butyl tape whenever I am fitting something that has to come off again.

I’ve become wary of sika as the tube I used stuck everything permanently when I did a temporary fix on some wooden rails, they’re still there 20 years later, I can’t get them off again. As long as you never want to take it to bit’s again you can’t beat it 😁
