Some bulbs you can't avoid touching of course, but these halogens can get pretty warm and need all the cooling they can get :) Please let us know if there's something else we can help with and have a great day!

I did the transmission drain/fill at about 84k, and the spark plugs at 88k, which helped out my overall engine idle and acceleration at higher speeds. Hi Andrew! I switched out my factory side mirror puddle lights and side indicators with LED's also on my 2013 Escape SEL. Worked out great. Do you or anyone know how to replace the puddle light housing? Found out from forums that there is a small torx screw to remove and then apparently a downward tab to press to release the housing. I have not noticed any tab after removing the screw. I am attempting to replace the puddle light housing with an LED Ford logo projection light. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Yeah it took a bit and it's wedged so close to the sidewall it's hard to get much leverage on it- my suggestion would be to try and push it forward...see if you can compress the gasket and give a bit more room for the key features on the socket to lift away from the ring it's keyed against. Then try and twist. If all else fails you could try a set of channel lock pliers with the offset/bent jaws and see if you can gently get around it to twist. Please let me know if this helps!

Hey thanks a lot, Ed! I hear you- 100%. I am trying to "complete" the maintenance library for how-to videos for this car in terms of stock / factory components before upgrading. I still need to do the lower fog lights as they're tricky to get to sometimes too... that being said, I have been working on an LED upgrade review video on the Boslla B1 bullet LED alternative for the low beams (H11). I was making the video the other night and right when I took everything out for a test drive, I noticed the lights flickering and then the lights shut off with a voltage fault. I contacted Boslla and they're sending over decoders to be able to hook it up and finish the review. Not super stoked that it requires that, but it's my first time dabbling in performance LED lighting. What have you found with your Escape? It sounds like you've done this already? Any tips or brands you'd like to see featured? They are CRAZY bright- my concern is blinding other people too... I'm often on the receiving end of the blinding LED headlights haha.

Sidemarker bulb - FE 2015/HID variant. - when I turn the wheel left/right, is that the "side marker bulb" - And if so, do you have LED recommendations for it? Or others? - Also, ty for showing this. At the very least, looks silly easy to replace. and is the model literally 168 ? Just clarifying so I can look for a solid reliable replacement bulbs to upgrade. -- Whenever I search it on amazon dot ca, I get 194 model, and not 168. Was wondering if that's compatible or not also. Still searching.

Hi there @RMLeLoup- yes, you're correct- the outermost little blinker bulbs are the directional indicators / side marker bulbs. When you are turning left or right, they are the flashing bulbs. Sorry that was unclear. I do not have a direct LED recommendation for that, but if you go to FordEscape.org and search the forum there, there are loads of people who have drop-in replacements that they vouch for. I just haven't done that yet so I can't recommend any at this time. Wish I could help more there. And yes- it is just "#168 bulb"... you can search google, or amazon or use our link in the video description. RockAuto is a good / easy source as well- but like you said, if you're looking to upgrade to LED, that is at least the correct place to start.

@@HowToEscapeDIYTipsandReviews To clarify. - just re reading, maybe we missed something. Left steering wheel, there is the toggle. Left or right signal orange lights go flashy flashy . - - - When I "just" rotate the steering wheel 90-270 degrees to the right or left. An illuminated "on" light gets triggered coming out the left or right lamps, it's tiny, small. And is "not" a signal that goes off on off on off on. I'm more trying to identify the upper shell housing light bulb that is specific to "when you rotate the steering wheel alone, with no flashy flashy lights". To be as literal as possible. Is that 168 or? And I couldn't quite affirm if your video properly replaced that bulb specifically as I have a HID based housing and not the standard halogen you're video has here. Thanks for the additional read.

Hey and sorry for the delay! They are not directly compatible from what I believe. I am not 100% sure about going from Titanium /HID to basic, but I know 100% you can't go from basic halogen to HID. There are ballast accommodations and different voltages to the led running lights just to start with. That being said, there may be a basic alternative to the titanium lights. I know they are ridiculously pricey if you buy new. Try Tasca parts for your Part Number and search for a good deal maybe, or Rock Auto as they usually have decent deals. I wish I could help you more on this but im just not sure as we only have a 13 SE.
