Well done instructional, great camera work to see everything and your instructions were clear and concise. I think you were spot-on on the removal (factory bolts rarely come off in one piece). So, me and my little ZX3 thank you. One note folks should know, the part is different for the automatic and the standards transmissions. You got a subscribe from me, thanks.

Great Job, thank you for taking the time to post this video. i need to do the same job on my 06 focus, soon. One question please, what type of gas did you use for the torch, to heat up the nuts, so they glow orange like this? thanks in advance.

I retied my oxy acetylene torch many years ago and replace it with just a small tank like on your barbecue and a plumbers touch have used a lot and works fine. I have an older one but this is close to what I am using. amzn.to/2VS8Nbl

I recommend a MAP torch (the yellow bottle) over propane especially in areas where cars get really bad rust. It burns hotter and will save time. Oxy acetylene is preferable but will cost more and unless you plan on doing exhaust often isn't worth investing in.

Can my ver run with just the flex pipe in place? Exhaust broke inbetween the flex pipe and towards the rest of the exhaust and I don’t know much about car so I was thinking of just tying something to the car to keep the flex pipe from scraping on the floor 🤣

On my FOrd Fousion...it seems that the gaskets rot away fairly quickly...not sure why, but I just replaced my flex pipe, but as I was doing it I realized I dont think it was the pipe itself, but just the gaskets...and now that I replaced them, its gotten louder once again, so I think it needs gaskets again. seems to be mostly the one on the manifold.

Thanks for the video. I just have 1 question. Does your focus have the automatic or manual transmission? My 2007 has the manual transmission. Amazon says the part number (52488) of your part doesn't fit my car. Also part number (52489) doesn't fit my car either via Amazon. I checked amazon for a 2006 ford focus too so either you were lucky it fit or Amazon is wrong. I think the latter.

@@channelron3593 I tried the walker flex pipe from Amazon for my 07 focus for the manual transmission. I got both kinds of gaskets you recommended too. It fit perfectly! I used a mapp gas and O2 torch to heat up the nuts. Thanks for your help.

This was a year ago and you probably have it figured out by now but since neither 52488 or 52489 fit - you probably have either a Federal emission car or a 2.3L engine. Those take a different part. Walker doesnt have a part listed for those. 52489 fit my 2005 manual trans car perfectly.

I have a 2009 Ford Focus and have been told I need to replace the flex pipe because it's leaking, but there see no other issues with the exhaust system and didn't mention any other system issues...Don't know if the year makes a huge difference, but I was just told that unless they can use a universal flex pipe, they'll have to disassemble the car because they can't get to the flex pipe easily because it's part of the manifold/catalytic assembly, so the repair may cost me $1500. Does that sound scammy to you? Also, I'm a woman, so right there, that's a liability for mechanics trying to scam you.

All good IF your original bolt breaks off. Of course, the geniuses at Ford put the nuts on the front where they are almost impossible to access. All automotive engineers will have to work on their designs when they get to Hell.
