good video... it's similar to doing laminate boards which I have done before. much easier to damage other boards with hardwood because they are nailed down.

This is the most easy part , nail down!! Lest tried a glue down close to the doors or any gabinet , like a pro !!!

Should’ve made a relief cut in the center and then those four outer pieces would’ve came out very easily. And you should probably put blue painters tape around the outer perimeter wood boards so you don’t damage them and do not use a chisel to beat against the good boards because you risk damaging other boards.

Depending on the sub floor, wood glue will work fine for wooden sub floor, epoxy or liquid nail for concrete.

Hi. I need to replace a few board in a prefinished hardwood floor. I purchased the flooring some time ago. Its natural maple color with I believe an aluminum oxide satin finish. I will have to cut the replacement board and put on the bevel, as you needed to. However, since this in in a kitchen, I feel that I need to seal the beveled edge. Do you agree? If so, what finished should I use and how should I apply it? Thanks.

These are called floating floors 8n Australia. A hardwood floor is when it’s thicker planks of wood that are the foundation of the house

People are eating this down just hatin. There is nothing wrong with this method, though regular wood glue should also do the trick. I'd recommend earplugs, safety glasses are optional, and something to kneel on.

Good overall technique, but: 1) wear safety glasses, ear plugs to encourage the idiots out there to do the same 2) don't use a chisel on the seams or you will damage the proximate board 3) I know what you did as far as trimming the end and bottom grove of the replacement panel, but it sure wasn't clear in the video. A little close up camera work would go a long way. 4) not sure if it would have made a difference, but I would have put another board across the middle when weighing it down with the vacuum or you might get a slight bowed-up effect

Please make sure to wear eye protection and hearing protection so that people watching would follow a good example. It's hard enough of a job to do, we don't need to diminish or permanently injure our senses as well. Hearing damage occurs in a way that does not heal and would get worse over time without protection and you would want your senses sharp for your entire life.

myviews block planer/hand planer or when you use the table saw to rip the bottom tongue of, top that sixteenth off as well. Put a piece of wood on the cut side so you won't have splinter blow out. Using a fine tooth blade and going just slow enough would help also with a little bit of tape.

I just stopped in to see what the vastly superior folks in the comments had to say. Why bother watching a how-to video when you already consider yourself to be the only one that does it right? What a real man/woman would do is make their own video showing the way they do it instead of beating their chest on somebody else's video.
