I am using the same FSA BB on a Look 765 frame - so far at 8000km and no noise, rolling smooth. It was an inexpensive part and will use the same one again.

Your videos are so awesome, thanks! I’m replacing my current FSA setup to mirror this, do you know where I should source the 24mm washer and shim?

I wonder if Shimano has done any changes to make the PF brackets even better? They were were pretty good at helping to address alignment isdueds

You should look at getting the BSC tools bottom bracket cup remover. Removes the need to hit press fit cups out of the frame and a real game-changer for a mechanic in my view.

Alex, Thought the same thing however with this FSA BB there is a flange off it that the receiving cup would not be able to touch the frame to assist the jacking out. I think the method being used is the only option outside of using a punch. I'm facing a similar issue and gave this some thought, but I could be missing something.

@@jerseybarrier64 The full kit from BSC comes with additional extraction cups. I've not come across a press-fit BB i can't remove using their tool. My Park Tool BBT-90.3 extractor now sits in the bottom of a tool box gathers dust.

@@AG17_1 interesting. I just can’t visualize what the cup presses against given the FSA bb has a flange that for me, covers the full outer wall on my bottom bracket shell.

The tool would be pressing directly on the frame! No good for this bb and frame as there is nothing to press against that is flat.

Which spring bearing tool did you use to punch out the cups? Was it the Park RT-1 for this size shell? Thanks

    The RT-1 will work fine!

Hi, I need some advice please, I’ve fitted the bottom bracket but have to use adapters to covert to a 24mm, just wondering, do I press the adapters on as even a good push they aren’t sitting flush against the body of the BB, so my concerns are dirty can ingress directly and therefore affecting the longevity of the bearings, I have a BB press shall I use this to really close the gap? Many thanks..

The adapters just push in by hand! You don’t need to press them in.

Ahh that’s not good.. any ideas why there’s a gap? As I know they are the right adapters for this BB? 🧐

anything to keep in mind when removing the adapters? just pull them off by hand? thinking of switching from a 24mm to a 30mm spindle crankset and thinking i could reuse the old BB. thanks@@FreeToCycle

Hello. Is it possible to replace just the bearings and not the whole bottom bracket?

  • @FreeToCycle

You can replace the bearings! To knock the old ones out you will find it easier to remove the BB from the frame! Then knock the bearings out on a bench and press the new ones back in!

Why wouldn't you use a Shimano Bottom Bracket I've done close to 26,000km no issues or creaking..
