Hi. Thanks so much for your video. We just bought an '07 Pont G5 4 cylinder 2.2 or 2.4 liter and this is exactly what they told us was wrong with the car: "timing issue which is the Exhaust VVT Solenoid". I looked up the cost to have this VVT Solenoid problem fixed and I saw that it could maybe be $500 or a little less so we bought the car. Seeing your video though, makes my son and I want to fix this problem ourselves and save the money since we got a pretty good price on the car (and could really use the savings). So we want to know if what you show in your video for this G6 would work the same for a G5? There's also an oil leak and it looks like fixing the VVT Solenoids could probably fix that. Any advice would be very much appreciated!! thanks!

Now the G5 I'm not Sure. But if they have the same setup and engine and everything then I would assume yes everything would be same as in the video above . Hope this helps

After I put the 2 solenoids in oil is leaking out of one of them. They seem to be pushed in all the way. I noticed the Intake valve bolts does not screw in easily. The new bolts are 10 MM. However I noticed using an 8 MM wrench to take the old Intake bolt out. Might that bolt hole be smaller on that Intake that's not allowing the 10 MM bolt to screw in all the way that's allowing the leak? Or can you think of any other reason for the oil leaking out?

Who ever replaced these 2 parts probably wasn't careful an damaged the o'rings an thats causing the oil leak from these sensors. Hard to say but I be willing to bet that

I have an 07 Pontiac g6 that is misfiring on one coil pack , replaced the coil pack got new spark plugs , motor has less then 100,000 miles sense rebuild , could this be the issue?

So it you've replaced plugs an coil packs ? An its still doing same thing ? If so then I would do a compression test on all 4 cylinders an then if that's good then could be a injector that's bad

I have a 2007 G6 4 cylinder. It won't shift out of second gear. If you hold gas petal down after awhile it will go into gear but when you stop and it start all over again? What do you think is wrong?

I found some metal shavings in my 2010 2.4, but it was only in small areas. Is it a severe issue, or just regular wear. Car has 210k miles

If your car has never had a timing chain done or anything like that it could be the metal pieces from that does it rattle on cold start at all. Cause other than that I'm not sure but that don't sound to good u definitely dont want metallic or metal stuff in your oil

@@GoInGcRz yeah those sensors will cause alot issues. But far the metal part not sure I'd say timing chain is worn or the guides and thats where it's coming from

I say try rotating the engine over by hand an see I'd that helps or go an turn the key an turn the engine over like just bumping it no a full turn cause will shoot oil out of it.
