Just a tip, if you are going to post a tutorial for installing, roll it together with a explanation on removing the cartridges as well lol, i'm worried i'm about to break the printer head off trying to get mine loose

Might want to show how to remove the old cartridges, as well. Gotta assume there are folk who must be shown every tiny step. Thanks anyway.

Maybe mention to which side you put the black and color. Also, the printer must be plugged in and turned on for the print heads to center themselves. Why do you shake the cartridges?

I have printed over 1200 copies of heavy writing paper with one cartridge, just don't let it run out of ink and keep re filling it. if it runs out submerge the ink jets under hot water till unclogged wipe it and good to go

Buy the XL ink it lasts much longer than standard ,,,You can use Pixma 545 XL OR 540 XL ink on these machines

Thanks for the video. One question, when I opened the front door to install the ink, the print heads didn't move. Did I miss a step or? I've tried unplugging and replugging to no avail, any tips? Thanks

This happened to me as well, and I had an error on the printer. I found what the error code, E03, meant (paper jam). When I corrected the paper jam and opened the front door the cartridges came to the middle so I could replace them. Check to make sure you don't have an error on your printer.

This happened to me too. I turned on the printer and it went back and forth a few times before settling in the middle and then it was pretty straightforward.

I noticed you used color 244 and black 243. Can you use color 244 and black 245XL? Or does it matter what ink cartridges you use together?

When I pull down on the center portion of my printer, the ink cartridges do not show up in the middle. How do you get them to show up in the middle so I can change the cartridges?

I am having the same problem! So I am low on color but only need black. So I replaced the black but it says my new on is empty! Then when I connect my phone to print it only prints on crappy color thatd left and I change my setting on my phone to black and white. Its still color. How do I fix the light on my printer from color to black??? ( I lost my instruction to the printer)

Yes even if you don't want to print out any colour pages you have to have the coloured ink carriage installed

What's the orange plastic for?

I have the same printer but I have a orange piece in the middle where I put the two inks (it’s blocking me putting them in) I’ve tried putting the ink in first and then the orange cap thingy & vice versa. Should I put it to the side for now?

@@itz2308 They are the same size as regular ones so should fit ..You have to line the grove up at the top of the cartridge and make sure its the right way up ..

Or should be used both

I started printnng but the colors are pretty low quality, can we fix it by a more expensive ink?

Change your printer settings accessed through the computer. Choose "high quality" instead of "standard" or "draft".

The cannon ink is so expensive.... anyone found alternatives??
