Much better than others I've seen. I really appreciate the narration, which makes it much more clear. The videos on the Canon site are silent and useless.

Never would've thought turning the printer on would be part of the procedure. Generally you turn machines off and unplug before opening them up.

Hi Nick - I got it figured out okay. I had taken out both cartridges and placed the color one aside as I knew it was empty and was mistakenly trying to put my empty black cartridge back into the color cartridge slot. Lesson learned - the printer will not accept a black cartridge in the color cartridge slot.

You have very well done tutorials. Thank you!

Hi Nick - I have a Canon Pixma MG3222. I have successfully replaced the ink cartridges many times since purchasing it new about five years ago. It's always been a straightforward easy process... but now I cannot get the left-hand color cartridge to go all the way back into its retainer so that I can push the retainer up to hold it in place. I have tried to insert it several times without success. It's a Canon Fine 240 XL cartridge. Can you share any ideas on why this might be happening? It's mind boggling. Thanks!

HP sucks! I had tons of their ink at home from the subscription that they basically force on you. They remotely froze my printer up, and emailed me saying that I couldn't use their services until I paid for another subscription (pay for another ink cartridge, basically). What a load of bull! Not only that, but the entire time I owned the darn thing, I had all sorts of problems with it. It was such a headache that I was to the point of dreading it every time I had to print something out! I will never buy a hp printer again!

Can you explain how to try to use my (hopefully good) color cartridge to try to print "black"? Thanks.

That's what should happen. After installing a new ink cartridge the ink light will go out. Ink light comes on when ink cartridge is low or out of ink.

does it have to be turned off or on while taking it out?

You don't give the android app version. My phone tries to get me to download one but has a different one installed called Cannon selphy. 2.10.0 12/20/22 They both say they are compatible with my phone. Selphy seems to have more options on it like photo print, but it doesn't show up on the list until I use my Samsung print service app to open it. There is another app to open it with called Mopria print service. Is there some need for these helper apps?

I would just order both at the same time and replace as needed.

I purchased a printer cord separately from Walmart it was like $8 I think. I use it for everything since I don't have wifi either.

Correct, PG-245XL and CL-246XL are the X large ink cartridges.

There's little trick to it. You need to press the power button about 2-3 seconds and release to power the printer on.

Suggestions: 1) Confirm that the cartridges are the correct ones that fit your printer. 2) Gently try to remove and insert them again. Don't force them!

CL-244 is the standard (less ink) size color ink cartridge and CL-246XL is the extra large (more ink) size color ink cartridge.
