I couldn't get the lower separated on my 2000 silverado, so I cut it with an angle grinder. I got the ball part pressed out but can't get the taper to release, even with my shop press. And I can't get the new upper to press in straight. I have the same tool you do. I'm not sure what's going on there, but why won't this taper release?

Why does hole on ball joint have to face out? I did mine and didn’t know that you were supposed to do that. Do I need to go back and remove and rotate?
Nice video, my 11 axle nut is a 35 , ball joints all look factory original, having problems with the bottom one

Yep same I found out my 04 Sierra is a 35 as well. I used a 36 and still got the nut off but it stripped it a little bit -__-
Tell me how you fit a torque wrench on that upper ball joint studs. Just did my son’s truck and there was no way that I saw to get that sucker in there to torque it.

Most torque wrenches won’t fit. You can invest in a torque wrench that fits in tight spaces. I wrench everyday so I have a very good idea of how much torque I put on each nut I tighten.

Gmc Sierra 2000 2wheel drive lower ball joint removal.
Have a 2011 Z71 crew cab with steel upper A-arms and the ball joints are not serviceable and the whole A-arm has to be replaced is the way I understand it. I didn’t see a c-clip plus in checking with the parts stores they don’t show just the ball joint for sale, only the whole a arm

yes depending on the year and model u may need to replace the whole control arm
Man I've been beating on my lower ball joint for 2 hours and it will not come out of the knuckle

DONT CHANGE ONLY THE BALL JOINT WHEN YOU UP THERE GO AHEAD AND CHANGE THE CONTROL ARM THAT COME WHIT AN ALLREADY PRESS IN BALLJOIN ....ITS NOT VERY MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE AND YOU END UP WITH NEW BUSHING ...MADE THAT MISTAKE NOW IM PISS OFF
