Rephrygeration
By Todd Stalter
Item: 00-45001
Series: Alfred Concert Band
Grade 4
Format: Conductor Score & Parts
A dynamic concert opener or closer cast almost entirely in the Phrygian mode. The half steps that make this scale mode so unique are celebrated both in a melodic and harmonic sense, with aggressive low brass figures, crisp and rhythmic percussion, and winding passages in the woodwind. (2:50)

I mean I get that, but most bands only have 1-2 bassoons and 1-2 Tenors so they may be the same but you still wouldn't be able to hear it over the rest of the band if it was just tenors or just bassoons.

It's very common to double tenor voices up to grade 4. When you hit grade 5 and 6. There is lots of independence in all voices.

... the highest note is a D in the staff if I'm not mistaken. I play bass clarinet and that is a GREAT range compared to most parts. Usually my highest note in a piece is an F at the top of the staff, and I've played pieces with a pianissimo attack on a C above the staff. Or lyrical parts with a staccato B above the staff after a regular lower note. This ain't high.
