It sounds like your climate is the opposite of mine. Mine is very dry and can be windy for several months in winter. I also cover my plants a day after watering to keep the humidity. You can try using akadama on a few plants and compare how well they grow.

What signs are obvious fungal signs. Which fungicide do you usually apply.

The most common ones are black mold and soft/mushy leaves/stem. The latter one is often accompanied by a very strong odor. Sometimes I can spot them by the smell first before I notice any obvious damage. If it is bad I spray with copper sulphate. Otherwise I dust with cinnamon powder.

Hi Renny🤗! That plant is amazing 🤩👏👏👏, thank you for the tips🙏. Now I need the tool ☺️, hehe. Maybe I should try growing with akadama, cause my climate is very humid and I had some issues with leaf rotting and White flies (I don't know the name in english, but this insect appears with too much water here because I'm surrounded of orange trees that host them). I use akadama top dressing but my summer is arid and I made my potting mix of 70% mineral, plus 30% organic. Should I try although my summer is desertic? My plants dry in less than 24h in summer and end up stressed and dehidrated... What do you think about this? Have a great day!💞.

Have you tried bottom watering for 20 - 30 minutes? That can help succulents get a good drink. :)

@@julesmonza6270 Yes Jules, I have tried, thank you for suggesting🙏😘. My problem is that our Air humidity outside during summer is 90% most of the time but we have high temperatures, tropical nights... the environment is perfect for insects and fungui but Haworthias are dormant and I have to water very little or nothing. That's the reason about thinking about a less organic mix that allows me to water a little without the risk of rotting. I'm still thinking about It🙈😅.

Such a beautiful plant! Will the bottom half of the stem be potted to produce pups?

I didn’t keep the stem because I have several pieces of this plant already, but yes, it would have produced offsets if I potted it up.

Hi Paola, thanks for watching. The fertilizer is Magamp-K. I recently also started using another brand - Dynamite. I will observe how well it works after a couple seasons. I can send seeds to Italy, but plants to Italy is a more risk. I have shipped plants to Italy before but 2 out of 8 packages were checked by Customs. I’m curious what you do with the older akadama. Are you able to repurpose it somehow?

Yea you can reuse old Akadama as long as it has not completely broken down or had harbored any fungi, disease, or pest
