Repairing Milwaukee hackzall/sawzall blade clamp (stuck/hard to twist)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Quik-Lok blade clamp kit #14-46-1011 for m12 hackzall.
How to repair/replace the blade clamp assembly on a milwaukee hackzall or sawzall.
You'll just need a small flat heat, tweezer or small nose cone pliers, and some dry graphite lubricant.

Milwaukee C18HZ repair Today I fixed the same saw that I paid $1 for. The machine worked unevenly (fast/slow). I washed the master switch in alcohol and blew out the switch with compressed air. Now it works like new! Greetings from Switzerland
Thx for the info, made me squirt some lubricant into it and it loosened it up!
You gotta be kidding me on a new tool not used very much...my hackzall is stuck! Never had this problem on any other sawzall!
I couldn't find a removable retainer clip to save my life. I finally opted for good ol' WD-40, which worked quite well. No doubt though, your method gets to the heart of the problem, and I wish I could have done that instead. Just couldn't find any separate removable metal piece on the end of the blade assembly. A close up of that portion of your tutorial might help.
Always spray the chuck with penetrating oil first! You shouldn't need to take it apart.......Mine was Rusted shut, and just sprayed it a few times and worked the Release wheel, and came free. Mine was under water, Rusted shut....and oil still worked.
Saved me from sending it in lol thanks
Great video, and thank God it's not hard to take apart! The problem is the oil they use from factory I believe, or just the amount that they use. Can't believe you need to "upgrade oil" nowadays, but that's what it's come to lol. It's a great tool, but mine rusted shut as well. Freed it earlier today. Opting for some pneumatic oil to prevent it again. That stuff keeps my Ingersoll impacts in working order, so I trust it!
thank you sir - helped me down in tx!
Easier to take plastic housing apart and blade guard off to start with; it makes puttting it back together easier when dealing with the pin. Body hosing screws are T-7 or 8. The blade guard screws are T-20. It also allows you to clean the debris inside the housing. I spent over an hour trying to put the pin in; spent 20 min taking it apart and putting it back together.
Even after expanding the picture I had trouble seeing the parts. This made this video less than helpful to me. You might want to consider improving your lighting setup so things are not lost in the shadows.
I was glad to find this video. My Quick Loc failed by locking up. The problem is that one corner of the square flange on the pin broke and it jammed the mechanism. Getting the locking ring off requires a strong tool. I broke a couple small screwdrivers. I was successful with a sculpting tool. Others use a pick. The part in this reassembly where the pin is replaced glossed over what was the hardest part of the repair for me. It took 6-10 tries at reassembly before the collar that guides the pin would seat low enough for the 1mm flange to clear it so as to be fully inserted. Getting the bottom, spring, sleeve and collar low enough on the shaft is the trick.

Square pin head broke on my m12 hackzall. Somehow after reassembled the chuck worked pretty good. Worth the time to fix
Maybe I'm stating the obvious but I would suggest only taking apart the chuck as a last resort. FIRST, try a generous dose of WD 40 on and inside the chuck itself. Give it a minute to soak in. My reciprocating saw had a stuck chuck but lubing it well saved me the time of taking it apart. --Mr. Obvious
Thank you.
Such an exciting video LOL….Jokes aside, thanks for the info. I’m about to get it a try….
The cap on my pin is completely crushed so they sell that separately?
The problem is I have a blade stuck in it. It wont turn completely to release the blade.
Don't ya just love working on tools that you need to work on work stuff with?
My saw blade is stuck in the Haxkzall due to the lock won't turn to release it.

You could try spraying some dry graphite or wd40 to loosen the locking pin. If that doesn't work, you might need to break off the blade to remove the locking ring.

@@hammernails Thanks for the advice. I think the blade would beard to break off near the ring, since the metal bracket surrounds the base of the blade.

I just sprayed WD-40 where the blade goes into the locking device and after a few tries it turned to release the blade!!! Thanks for the advice.
