Repairing Leaky Washing Machine Pipes With SharkBites
We came across one of the units washing machine hookups leaking. This was the first unit we rehabbed completely and Z went under the unit the other day to put some insulation up and found a big wet spot on the floor in the washer/dryer area. We got access to the inside of the unit and found the washer hookups dripping into the wall and down through the floor. Just guessing, we think this has probably been leaking since May when the tenant moved in. We found the leak in November so it had been leaking for a while. Once we cut a hole in the drywall we found mold all in the wall so decided to cut all the drywall out. We were able to repair the pipes with shark bites. We left it open for a few days to dry out.
