Repairing Gold Foil Balenciaga Heels for My Wardrobe HQ
Collaborating with My Wardrobe HQ has given us power couple vibes at The Handbag Clinic. We adore working with other circular companies so we were delighted when the opportunity arose to work our magic on their Balenciaga Gold Heels.
Our commitment to conservative restorations means metallic items can be notoriously challenging to restore, due to the pigment of the colourant being reduced. However, utilising our specialist formula and identical gold foil that we sourced specially, our artisan was able to undertake a seamless restoration.
Applying the foil by hand and delicately brushing off the excess, we were able to restore the entirety of the heels to look brand new. Our work didn’t stop there, we undertook a hygienic clean of the heels to ensure that any build up residue or dirt was removed to ensure they were ready for their next trip to the dance floor.

The color is slightly different. Balenciaga is more yellowish and after the repair it's tending more to a rosy undertone. But it's an excellent job!
How do you protect the foil from scratching off again?

All items that undergo work within our clinic are sealed upon completion with a specialist product created within our Clinic (think of it as your go-to hairspray that never fails you). Ultimately, it also depends on how the shoes are used as wear can be inevitable if they're scuffed on pavements when walking or get thrown off feet on the dance floor ☺️

@@HandbagClinicOfficial how are you going to act like you created a proprietary sealer? And even if you did...why hide it? Like a competitor is just waiting in the bushes to bring down your whole organization because they got your KrabbyPatty Secret Formula for gold leaf shellac.
I can't imagine the foil application would last more than a few wears. It would definitely crease and flake away, even with the glue. Nothing can bring the finish back to the original leather treatment.

this gold leave is so thin and if you do not put wax on it it scatches of in a blink - -it will never work for shoes while wearing
don’t like the finish of the foil. they look like cheap shoes right now
