This is a new feature that KZread has apparently granted this relatively small channel. I didn't realize it was going to put this out there the way it did, but I guess I'll give it a try. - Steve

Cars Simplified Extras yeah its the same goat/monaro key. I just wanted to buy a new key housing and transfer the internals and blade over. Everything works but the oem rubber buttons wore out years ago.

Hmm... I'll have to do a button repair video sometime as well. Is it the same kind of key as mine?

Oh, yeah, the buttons on mine are worn out already, and the key (the button part, at least) is less than two years old. I actually have two full spares and a case that has the Chevy logo on it that I can do future videos on, like programming it to the car and such. The two biggest pains about the OEM key are the glue holding it together and the battery that is practically welded in place.

Can I just replace the battery and case? My buttons are worn out and I have to use a tooth pick to push buttons

The battery on these GTO keys is fused to the chip; if you can get it off of the chip without breaking it, you can definitely replace the battery. The case can be replaced, too. Not all replacement cases come with the Pontiac logo on it, though.

Do I just pull out old battery and put in a new one? What battery is it?

It uses a 2032 battery, but it's fused to the board.
