Repairing the famous Ultegra FH6500 rear hub with parts from a Deore FH T610.
Spares for the FH6500 are either unavailable or overpriced so I gave it a try with Deore parts and it worked out fine!
One thing to consider: MTB freehubs (like deore) are a little shorter than road freehubs (like ultegra). So the lowest gear of the rear wheel is closer to the spokes and not really usable when you swap the deore freehub into an ultegra hub. I just adjusted the derailleur to not access the lowest gear. Personally I do not need 9 gears in the back when I have three gears in the front. 3x8 speed is fine by me
