Sometimes the funniest parts of a VINwiki story are the completely mismatched photos that go along with it.

The Ford Cummins 7.3L that came in the Dodge Dakota F250350 Titan AT4 was super popular in the 90's. I mean besides the Ferrari 458 EvoPerformante DBX and the Mercedes AMG M6 GT3RS Continental, it was a best seller. I think the Buick TaurusCamaro Bonneville and Saturn FRS GenesisCorrolla maybe sold more units. I would need to consult VinTavarishHooviewiki's records though for some exact sales figures.

You know how hard it is to find a picture of a Ford F350 from the late 90's? It's not like Ford made a couple hundred thousand and my dad has 3 of them sitting at the farm. They are super rare!

TO BE FAIR, you can't exactly put those F250's on a traditional hoist. I did one just today and the damn thing was about the length of a limo and could barely even fit on our rack. Not fun. But yeah they gotta talk to their intern.

Ah, yes, the oil shower. I opened the oil bins ball valve with my collar when going under it. Dumping about 2 gal of every vehicular fluid on to my head... Good times. At that point the place had been open for almost thirty years and no one had done that.

I've heard from my fellow mechanics that those vans are absolutely awful to work on and cost ludicrous amounts of money in parts. Makes the old Econoline and Express vans super attractive.
@AaronSmith-kr5yf

I could believe the absolutely awful to work on thing, any transverse V6 SUCKS. But we used those Dodge Ram Promasters for delivery in my old job as a courier, they were surprisingly very reliable, held more than a Chevy van, our drivers loved them with the stand up head room and were better on gas. Also WAY better in the snow with FWD vs the open diff RWD Chevy vans(stupid cheapskate owner didn't see how a $250 locking diff was cheaper than a tow bill/down time on those Chevies). We also tried diesel Mercedes Sprinter vans, bought a couple of them 2 years old, 50k miles, still under warranty. One of them spent more time in the shop than doing deliveries, the other one was solid mechanically but both had broken seatbelts, sagging/sprung front doors, broken interior door handles, then the good one got filled with gas to the tune of $4000 in repairs. Dumped them after 5-6 months.

If all else fails he could become head oil spiller at BP.
Those who had what happened to this guy with the oil spilling on them. “Dawn Dish Soap” is your best friend.
A dirty mechanic is a trusty mechanic.
That oil spill turned him into Justin Trudeau's favorite costume for a bit there
Anyone else from the UK/ Europe see the thumbnail and go ‘that’s not a dodge that’s a Peugeot!’ 🤣🤣
i would have lost it on the property manager and sent him the bill!
And there is no system to forward the costs the guy who had it towed off for no reason at all?

In my experience the best mechanics are ones that were mechanics then shop managers then said fuck this shit when they found a better boss. Grandparents had such a guy; incredible mechanic. But I’d come in to help them with something in the office and be like hey Jeff what’s up? ‘Motherfucking piece of shit what sort of shit was this engineer smoking ahh it’s loose hey man what’s up?’
That was a long winded story that lead to nowhere.
Gotcha. Don't trust this guy to do an oil change ever.
Hope the a$$hole property manager got his in the end.
Yeah, that's how I know you hardly work on diesels.😂😂 because taking a shower in oil is another day in the shop, You grab some rags take off as much as you can do you get back to work
I put this guy on when I’m ready to go to bed

those pro master vans are made by Peougeout/Citröen in France. other companies just place orders and have their badge put on it.
Why did y’all just leave the photos up to a random grab bag selection, just use ones that make sense? Why can’t that be done?
In California, at least, it is illegal for shops to drain oil out of a vehicle using the drain plug. Used oil is toxic waste including heavy metals. Oil changes are made by aspirating (sucking) oil out of the filler tube so there is no chance of human contact.
@therealmaverickx
11 ай бұрын
California should be made illegal. the sucking method is nice yet it will never get all the oil out of the system
On the bright side, it wasn't DOWN BY THE RIVER!!

Used diesel oil is like black paint, except it doesn’t dry. It’s good and cheap for frame and closed vehicle panel rust protection. Heavy gear oil is like spoiled Chinese honey cooking oil with bits rotting animal meat.

Sprinter sold by dodge. Shows a Fiat Ducato looking thing.
I installed a new oil drainer at a workshop and one of the office staff thought he’d have a play plugged in a airline to empty it as you pressurise it to empty it he didn’t close the valve to the bowl and created a fountain of waste oil and instead of unplugging it or turning off the valve he ran. So now there’s 60 litres of oil all over the floor and 2 customers cars. Moral of the story. Stay in your lane you idiot 😂

In Europe our diesel engines are filled with engine oil, and we fill the diesel oil in the tank, not the engine usually.
@connor3288

Semantics... In usa, diesel oil usually refers to diesel engine oil, where diesel usually refers to diesel fuel. Kinda silly to think all regions would use exact same terminology. I do wish some things were more simple however, like us and uk gallon being different, and the gasoline octane rating methods being different.

Left my project Dodge truck at a mates panel shop. Had everything ready, parts, engineering and motor... It was getting body straightened so we could finish chassis mods. Over Xmas I went away... building he was in was sold. I came back to be told my mate and 4 other business's had been evicted, but he left my truck outside and it got crushed as a wreck and my engine sold.... Lets just say for the next few years, some people had extremely poor luck...

Assuming you are in UK or 'Stralia. I would think something like that would be a lawsuit, at least in usa, them crushing/selling vehicle without contacting police to check ownership status first. Hear any rumors of their misfortune?😅
