Aloha from Maui Luke! I am currently resurfacing an ancient rusted out deer horn handle hunting knife that quite possibly could have been lost or discarded by Nathanial Boone or even...David Bowie!! Really enjoy your quazi-cultured British accent and your irreverent cavalier approach to knife refinishing. Well Done!!

I think your commentary is very well executed with good info . I think the end result is very good . I tend to use the kitchen roll (Blitz ) folded a few times as a sort of finishing strop which gives a micro convex bevel, mostly for convenience and time . Having said that when i can, i use this method regular to keep my blade in good order , i keep a kitchen roll as a handkerchief in my pocket at all times as a do it all item .

I'm astonished to see what some people accept as "mirror finish". I'm watching these polishing videos, because I struggle to find out when to move on from one grit to the next. But when I see the result, mine is not so far off. However, I'm trying to get a real mirror and I guess I just have to keep trying and maybe going up to the higher 1000s in grit.

That came out beautiful!!! That's proof that you can fix and sharpen your knife without spending hundreds of dollars on tools and jigs. Awesome video!! Thank you!! From 🇺🇲

That's beautiful!! If You add little soap to the water used with "wet and dry sandpaper" it functions even better.

It was good to see your process for polishing and reprofiling a knife. I have a few knives that have scars from when I attempted to sharpen them as a kid that I would like to sort out.

Fantastic finish! Didn't know about the solvents in polish effecting the strop either, great tip!

Don't fix the scratch, just keep using the knife. It'll last longer that way. Unless ur selling it of course.
