I called Lizette and despite Beacon being in Florida while my door is in NY she still offered helpful suggestions knowing that she was not close enough to service the door. Thanks Lizette!

After watching this video I had a few questions. I called Lizette. I was unable to reach her so I left a message. Knowing I lived in a different state and wouldn't gain any business from me, she still returned my call. That in its self said a lot... My house was built in 2009. what type of sliding door do I have in my master bedroom? I am getting a cold draft in between the two doors and I believe I need to replace the interlocking weatherstrip.

yup, I replaced foam, and I have rot in stationary side sill wasn't sealed by installer

How do you remove the bead strip on a Andersen Patio door from 1986?Also replacing a new bead strip on the door.

Absolute, total JUNK. Back in 1991 I did a major remodeling project on my (circa 1956) 1400 sq. ft ranch house, 20 miles north of Philadelphia. Selected Andersen casement windows and an Andersen Frenchwood patio door - after also considering Peachtree, Marvin and one or two others. Biggest mistake I have made in the 42 years that I've lived here. Every unit had/has major quality issues.... every casement insulated glass unit failed due to improper manufacturing, causing the dual panes of glass to "suck in" and touch in the center, eliminating the insulation value, obscuring clarity and causing condensation on the interior panes with water puddling on the sills. Every glass unit was eventually replaced under warranty or a technician drilled holes in the sides and plugged them to eliminate the vacuum. Of course, the argon gas filling was severely compromised in that process. The patio door lock mechanism failed because a little 5 cent spring broke and is not replaceable, requiring purchase of an entire new locking mechanism from Andersen at retail of 200.00 That was the last purchase of any Andersen product I will ever make.

Craig R......Agree with you 100%. If Anderson Corporate spent 1/2 the money they spend on advertising for their replacement windows and doors and had a repair program for all these pieces of CRAP French and Sliding doors, they wouldn't have to advertise so much for new customers because there would be a pool of satisfied old buyers on their next home. THE ANDERSON DELAMINATION PROBLEM ON ALL CLAD DOORS IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. I AM NOT AND ALL HAPPY OR SATISFIED WITH MY $42,000 SPENT ON ANDERSON WINDOWS AND DOORS.

How can I change my vinyl on these andersen doors ?

I don't know of an option to change the vinyl. Likely Andersen would tell you that you have to replace the doors. I know we've seen clients with doors that are delaminating and we've suggested glue and clamps to help keep their doors together and that has actually worked. How bad is the vinyl? Could you salvage it and try the glue trick. Use a glue that won't eat up the vinyl and is made for outdoors. Hope that helps and thank you for watching!

Beacon Windows Well, thanks for a reply . The vinyl is all cracked up. I will simply rip up the whole thing and buy new vinyl and cut to dimension and stick with contact cement...Labor intensive but these doors are so expensive. it is worth it.
