Repair End of Expanding Garden Hose After Cutting Out Leaking Section

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I’m replacing the end of a leaky expanding garden hose. Doing it in real-time so as to show how long it really takes! This is the female end with moving/rotating parts, the male end is easier because it does not swivel.
Splices in middle of expanding hoses are similar, this video should be helpful. Different parts are needed for that (straight mending coupler).
I used parts from Amazon. There are several brands of Chinese cheapo parts, I just order the ones I can get fastest when I need to repair a hose. Then I lose the other 3 sets that came in the package before I need to fix another hose…order another set…heh.
This works on the expanding hoses that shrink up when drained, not the G-Force style that flatten and can be rolled up.

Thanks for the comment. I mentioned I was doing it in real-time, so that people can see exactly how long it takes. It’s a bit frustrating and the instructions make it seem like it’ll take 2 minutes. If you like the video, please click ‘like’.

Thanks for the comment. I've had good experiences with these newer generation expanding hoses, other than one end or the other leaking after a year or so. I've also had them snag in the middle on rose bushes when I wasn't paying attention. Repair is similar. The hose I'm repairing in this video is about 3 years old. I've been using these hoses for more than 10 years. They last about 5 years for us with an occasional repair. It's so much easier carrying these hoses around that it makes it worth dealing with the lower water delivery and not being as robust.
