These vintage cameo pieces used to hang in my grandma's house in Newfoundland. They've been broken and repaired many times over the years. I wanted to improve their appearance without erasing the work that my grandma had done to fix them, so in this video I'll be colour matching the plaster and repainting the gold details on these two sweet pieces.
I wouldn't really call this a traditional "restoration" job and certainly not "conservation"; I wanted to do this to spend some time thinking about my grandma and feeling connected to her through these objects. I'm really happy to see them hanging in my home every day now. ☺️
The brand of these items is "Giftcraft Japan" and I believe they are from the 1950s. I misspoke in the video that they were from the 60s. I hope you enjoy this peaceful little project with me!
