Floyd or whatever his name was should not have tried to steal from the store with counterfeit money and oh yeah, maybe he should not have taken drugs including fentanyl. How about not holding a gun to the pregnant woman's belly and getting into her home under false pretenses even wearing a uniform to fool the home owner which he did. I live in the Ferguson area and was at ground zero when the chaos initially broke out (but not as a participant). And my cousin is good friends with Wilson and was actually his training partner when he joined the force. I've had to be really careful who I tell that to but I don't care anymore. The facts of what happened vs what "the community" thinks happened are 2 very different things. It's absolutely disgusting to see this woman putting the "Gentle Giant's" photo while spewing lies and inflammatory rhetoric. The image behind her should be the surveillance video of him pushing the store clerk he robbed. The sad part is, even if we had footage of Officer Wilson heroically defending himself, it wouldn't make a difference. Most of the community of the STL metro area has a very hostile attitude and complete lack of respect towards law enforcement. We got a jump on defunding and electing people like Cori Bush long before Floyd. On my drive home out of the city there is now a large highway billboard I pass every night that says "No MO Tough on Crime: Mercy Prevails Over Judgment 2024."

I managed to escape any criminal record but thru my 64 years, I've had multiple encounters with police of multiple jurisdictions and states. From traffic issues to whack neighbors to several innocent situations that spun out of control to point that many police are aiming weapons at me. Their professionalism kept me alive. ... And some years ago when working a PT taxi gig, I got attacked by a meth head lunatic at a gas station at night. Violent attack after saying I was off duty; smashed driver window w/fist while on radio with cops. (Was not carrying at time so did not Insta-resolve by shooting point-blank in face. Good thing as he turned out to be a friend's son in Dark Times and okay now but I digress). At any rate, cops are en route, I'm bleeding into both eyes, dude takes off running and against dispatcher shouts, took off after him in the cab. Epic chase thru neighborhoods into back of a school (this is 3 AM or so). Went off longer than intended but since here, a note that I had him in sights to either run him down or try the movie stunt of zooming up beside and opening door to knock him flat. The reality was more problematic as seemed big risk of him falling under the wheels; oh, well. Cornered against baseball backstop but zipped out side before REAL plan to pin him against the fence w/front bumper. Probably a bad idea too, as images of my childhood Play-Doh Fun Factory came to mind. By the time I got off that field around some landscape obstacles, dude had ran into a dark alley. Damn it! Too much lead! But by the time I hit the alley, two patrol units showed up. "WHERE'D HE GO?" "ALLEY! GIT 'EM!" "We will! Let us chase him; get back to that gas station!" Head wounds bleed excessively due to scalp vascularity (am EMT, too). So my head was drenched in blood from a couple minor cuts and looked horrid. Barely got stopped at station before swarmed by FD paramedics. Place was crowded w/police, highway patrol ... damn, felt like the Marines. Thanks, gentlemen! Yes, they caught him. Seemed he resisted so was nicely thumped-up when spitting curses as I identified him (began kicking door when I blew him a kiss). Intended point was that I found myself on both sides of police many times and glad they're out there. Manifesto ends. Carry on.

If black men would obey the police this problem would disappear.

It's easy to get good people if they are available. Trainiig is easy to do, too. When you see a bad cop he has generally been hired and / or trained to be that way. The job simply requires these simple standards. So good cop and bad cops are hired to perform a function. The problem is at the top, either not doing their job or pushing an agenda. These things are easily fixed, so why aren't they????
