    A good review! Reolink is definitely leading the industry at this point! Check out the time lapse feature (it’ll give an awesome video in your plot). Also there is a desktop version of the Reolink software that will give you programmable set points for your camera movements. In other words you can have programmed positions that the cameras will move to with the click of a button (again that feature is only available through the desktop software at this point) 👍

    I am interested in mounting one of these on my boat that I keep in a harbor about 45 min away to keep an eye on it. Would the motion sensor constantly go off as the boat drifts back and forth with the slack in the ropes? Or would it need an actual person to set it off?

    Can you put it up higher like 15 feet so nobody could grab like a 2 x 4 and knock it down or even maybe 20 feet

  • @JaseOutdoors

    @JaseOutdoors

    2 жыл бұрын

    You can, and I almost think it'll work better because of the way the sensor is designed. They recommend around 10 feet high but I think the problem getting higher than would just be your subject being pretty small in the video. I just received their new cam just like this but has new features and one being 2k resolution, so hopefully can zoom into the video a bit if trying to identify something. I didn't even open it yet, but if you're not in a hurry wait a bit or maybe just check out the new one.

    Nice video. I have a few of the regular Reolink Go cameras, but I haven't yet deployed them. I've been looking at the PT. Question: I heard some sounds when you were panning/tilting the camera. Was that audible to you during testing? Could a deer hear it?

  • @JaseOutdoors

    @JaseOutdoors

    3 жыл бұрын

    I wanted to touch on this, but thought it was getting too long. That's audio coming from the camera itself. There is very little sound coming from the cam. They are most likely going to see the cam moving before they hear it. I haven't had it out long enough to see if it really affects the deer. Just one time I was panning around and it didn't bother them at all. They were about 15 yards away

    I have a go pt on the way to me and I just ordered the us mobile starter pack..Verizon has the best service in my area so I'm thinking about trying out the black card. But when I begin setup on the us mobile app and choose my network(black sim), it looks like I need to give an imei #(phones have these) Does the go pt have an imei #? The white sim doesn't request it, just the sim # Thanx

    So, it has a "privacy mask" to block out sections of the video....but I do not see a way to block out the sensor to pick an area you want. I'm not even sure I understand the privacy mask...I'll need to dig deeper. Thanks for asking

    Hey 👋 Jase, Thanks for the detailed video, really appreciate it, I've been looking at this camera. I'm trying to catch people vandalizing my brand new Ram TRX and trying to break in and steal my four-wheelers out of my enclosed trailer. Did you ever figure out why sometimes it records for a short time and sometimes it records for a long time? I will need enough video evidence to prosecute. Thanks!

    Appreciate you watching! I think just once it doesn't detect motion it'll stop but the app now allows you to set a time frame of long long to record after it detects motion. I just the the ReoLink Go PT Plus that I will review soon. This one has better quality and apparently can detect vehicles and people and alert you as to what it is. I have to learn it so I'm not really sure yet, but sounds like something that might interest you.

  • @JaceF8

    Had a few questions..... Can you toggle it to take a recording or just take a picture of the motion like a traditional game camera? It would be nice to have the option to pick between the two, a video of every does and squirel may not be necessary. Next, when it detects motion and starts recording how long are the video segments? 3rd, i know the video you see through the app is a lower quality compressed file, but can you download the HD video? Obvioulsy it woud take more data, but that is an option some other game camera companies are offering. Thanks, great review.

  • @JaseOutdoors

    @JaseOutdoors

    Thanks for watching! The cam records for as long as it detects motion. Once motion stops, it's stops recording. The newer one now shows you a thumbnail of the video so you can see what triggered the cam and don't have to waste data on those dang squirrels. You can't download the HD video but the file is stored on the micro SD card. Hope that answers everything

    I'd say there isn't much of a difference with the sensor at night vs daytime. I've had things walk by pretty far out and still got it. I should experiment with the height of the camera. I only have it about 7 feet off the ground but the way the sensor is designed, it apparently works better when you mount the cam at about 10 feet high. It's working well where I have it so I haven't bothered with it. Hope this helps

The IMEI numbers on the cameras would not be accepted on line with Verizon and I got the error message to contact customer support.
