Another awesome review! I was almost sold on this one until you said that the pan & tilt was manual only and no options for preset tracking; that's a dealbreaker. I can understand if Reolink did it to save battery, but with a solar panel I would imagine that's no longer an issue. I also noticed in your demo with the siren, you stated "Not loud" I know you turn them down for demos, but is this one actually not loud?

I got this unit a couple of weeks ago. Video quality is good day and night. With the infrared LEDs on, you get lots of night time illumination but license plates are flared out and impossible to read. Fast moving cars are often missed because the motion trigger is too slow. WiFi connection is good on 2.4GHz more than 50 feet from the access point. I wish it would track movement with the pan and tilt head, but more importantly I wish it had a few presets for camera position. The cable for the solar panel is very long.

You need to make a spread sheet of these lights so the viewer can see all of them and their details in one screen.

Thank you. It's good that you upload in 4k. Far too many reviewers upload in 1080p which cannot remotely demonstrate the image quality differences between these HD cams. They seem to be oblivious to that fact!

Hey, I'm want to get my first security cameras but I'm stuck between eufy or reolink. First ones will probably be wire free as I'm not sure how to properly run cables yet. But I do live in Canada where it gets below -40 Celsius. I like that I can get door sensors with eufy and not reolink but reolink seems to have better cameras? What would you recommend between the two brands?

Question Reolink provided me info that the battery powered models do not support RTSP, I require to setup a few cameras if possible solar powered for a location specifically to stream the cameras on youtube for weather conditions. Is it that its impossible at this time to stream from Battery operated cameras or is this a limitation by Reolink? Can I only have the stream feature with a IP camera?

Question: Is the an app to watch and control from a computer? If not, would you recommend a camera that does? Also, can this or another camera connect to a NAS? I have a house in Europe which I would like to monitor from the U.S. without having to deal with subscriptions. Thank you.

I still love my WYZE V3 .... It's inexpensive my notifications come in under 3 seconds it records 24/7 even if the internet goes out if it had cellular internet and battery backup it would be perfect for me. I owned two PT Argus camara, I need help with setting up the correct Pacific time (California) both showing one hour ahead and the other issue I have is that: is not recording after 2:00 a.m. and then records after 4:00 a.m., even though the time is wrong because is one hour ahead.thank you for your reply.

Can you directly link these with your phone or do you have to go through a wifi router?

I got the eufy camera 360 outdoor model. trouble is once this battery dies, it goes into the trash heap. This $300.00 camera should have a replaceable battery. Any models that have a decent replaceable battery?

Would have liked to see how you set cam recording. Both of mine record a few hours then shut down. Tried setting them for 24 hour but just doesn’t record at nite

Im guessing 2.4ghz is going away because WIFI 6 can penetrate walls so much better, that 802.11ax 5Ghz is just about as good of a signal as 802.11n 2.4 going thru the same number of barriers.

No, it doesn’t have tracking. Checkout my Reolink trackmix for human and vehicle tracking. It is a wired camera though.

Now if they could get this thing to track contacts - the first noticed unless the user selects a different target to track. And only 15 FPS? With the chipsets available these days that do 4k at 30 fps without a hiccup and even have excellent night sight modes - especially when there's a light on (solved by an optional added spot light activated by the camera or simply motion activated and mounted nearby). These camera companies need to be looking at dashcams that do SO much more SO much better for a heck of a lot less (granted they lack any of the notification features and their file sizes are commensurate with their vastly superior resolution).

How is this compared to iegeek 5mp solar camera? Which one would you go for? The iegeek is about£35 cheaper

It does if it has a micro SD card installed. Better to have the 128gb card as will have good space

Since I see Reolink posted a video about their doorbell camera will you be buying one to test out?

Do you have some videos on the wyze cam V3 do you know if there's any way to have it purely on a local network without any internet access whatsoever?

I’m not sure if they updated it to have the RTSP function like their older cams.

My dzees PTZ camera has preset zones, solar panel,ect for a lot cheaper. Can't post links but it's on Amazon. Wild reolink seems to be slacking in features lately. I want a motion tracking a camera, can any PTZ camera do that with just a software upgrade?

I think the problem with the low light sensors is not as simple as it seems. First of all, the material shortages can't be helping, as low light sensors require more silicon. Second of all, while color night vision is pretty, it's not incredibly functional as the quality and sharpness is usually lower than that of cameras with good quality IR Leds.

In my opinion the plain black and white for night time lacks important information that color gives. Sure the quality might be a little lower but I am willing to sacrifice that for the color. If anyone such a a perp breaks into your car or vandalizes your property one of the first things the police ask for is a description. Well officer my security camera doesn’t record in color so I can’t tell what color clothing the perp was wearing. A color video is more than just being a pretty video. This in my opinion is more important than the picture quality being a bit less. Imagine a police officer asking you the color of a perps sweater- he had a red sweater on and black shorts with a grey hoodie police than know right away as a description what colors someone’s cloths were and who they can start looking for. But please let me get this correct do you mean even if there is some light the newer model - this one will not record in color but only black and white? Oh heavens I hope this isn’t right or I will keep my present cam or just replace it with one of the tracking cams. Thank You Very Much and Cheers BTW I am a retired police officer this is why I made and talked so much about color being important at least in my opinion.

@@MYTOYMAKERZ I find your take on this interesting. I agree that having an accurate description is crucial, but I still think that sharpness is important. My town has had some issues with package thieves taking packages left on doorsteps overnight. Being able to read a licence plate has been the reason that these idiots have gotten caught. While that might make you think that a 4K color night vision camera is the best option then for the best sharpness and color, that's not necessarily true. When a company crams more pixels into a sensor, the amount of light that each pixel receives is much lower. Combined with the fact that more light goes to waste because there are more borders between pixels, and you have a noisy image. I guess my conclusion is that there is not a perfect solution. That is, unless you want to spend a couple grand on an Axis camera 😂

just got this, someone could break thru my front door before I even got a notification ...it also wont read my tag from 25ft away

I had some trouble programming my Argus PT. The tech dept. is in India, a difficult language to understand. The SD chip was another problem I had. Problem never resolved after 8-9 -hone calls. This product sucks. Threw camera into trash.

Hopefully it didn't flood too bad where you are. Maybe it would wash away some of those nasty hogs.

We needed the rain though…not a lot of flooding…lol on the hogs..

Bought two Reolinks.. One PTZ and an indoor .. BOTH stopped working after less than a year... The indoor focus stopped working and the outdoor just stopped working after a snowstorm..The solar panel did nothing... I had to keep going up to recharge it... I will be looking at other brands from now on..

Did you try to restore or reset the cameras? Reolink has a two years warranty. Contact their support. My Reolink cams work fine except when lightning struck very near the house, one Reolink cam short-circuited. My experience with solar panels is, they only work when a camera records occasionally like in a backyard. If a camera records a lot, like facing a sidewalk or street, a trickle charge solar panel can't keep up, the battery won't charge enough. A solar panel should be exposed to direct sunlight for as many hours a day as possible.

Well they can't run work without Wi-Fi

This camara has only two forms for storage and I don't trust reolink cloud.

I have the same camera, 3 months now. Last night it did not record in night vision at all! The footage was dark. Could only make out known objects. I have not changed any settings. (I live in sunny Las Vegas, NV), within the last two weeks I’ve noticed that the battery is not recharging. (The solar panel is attached to roof trim. Exactly how yours is, in your video). I should be getting lots of sun! The connection wire that connects from the solar panel to the camera seems to becoming loose, when it’s windy. We don’t get much rain, here so that’s not a factor. This should not keep happening. The solar panel does not seem to be recharging! I had to get my ladder back out, and take it down, plug it in manually to charge it! 🫤Also noticed, depending on the color of the clothing worn by the person, the camera will not pick it up and trigger camera. Missing what i really want to see! If the person is quiet, not making noise, and wearing dark colored clothes. Camera doesn’t seem to record as fast. missing faces and key things. I have 5G Wi-Fi. Don’t know if that’s the problem.?
