Im concerned about battery powered cameras simply because I live where we are below freezing for at least 1/3 of the year. I assume these are lithium batteries and that they'll be ruined half way through the first winter. However lead acid seems like it would do a horrible job in a small device like this. Any thoughts?

These look great and I was looking to get the V2 until I read they are not really willing to support matter when it was released. Yeah matter doesn't have camera support yet but I would love to just have everything work perfectly in 1 place with 1 protocol instead of having different hubs and connection points that brands like to create to work just with their smart home bits and bobs. I am wanting to start to go into home automation, as I finally am getting a house, and I feel overwhelmed that everything I want to buy requires their own base or I will need to learn how to setup a home assistant server, ensure everything I buy works there and be cautious of how to setup the network for privacy in case something wants to connect to the Internet and be exploited etc. All this seems to be quite overwhelming for me and getting into the smart home stuff. So Anything that can alleviate my pain is the +1.

I love that you can put that much storage and record local, but I wonder if there is a clever way to back that up automatically to another location like a NAS or even a network location like a Google Drive. Thanks for the review. I'm currently locked in the Ring system with cameras, floodlights, and home security system. But I could always diversify ;D

Yes, NAS (RTSP) has alway been an option, just not as simple as the built in storage of the Homebase 3. Glad they expanded the HB3 storage.

Thank you for this great video, I'm considering this setup for my home , but i have some questions, does the camera use internet bandwidth when recording an event? , Or does it only communicate with the home base , also what would happen if the internet goes out? I know i won't get notified but will the event be recorded on the home base? I don't have reliable internet but i want to make sure that the home base keeps recording

I have a question. If the camera dose not detect beyond 30' and can't do continuous recording. Why would it matter how good the camera resolves images 50 to 60' away? That would only matter if you were able to record live?

I'm loving my Eufy dual doorbell camera, but I wish it could push a feed to an Echo Show when it detects motion at the front door. Waiting for the notification, finding the phone, calling up the video takes a lot longer than simply going to the door and looking. Also wish they would fix the local feed in a browser. I'm looking at the base on my desk yet I can't access it directly or with speed. ...if it works at all. Still better than Ring, tho.

How many homebases can you install? Do they connect to each other wirelessly, or should all of the be connected with ethernet? I am wondering, if buying 4 cameras, placed on the edges of a big single layer house, would it be sufficient (signal) for all of the cameras? If not, how to manage the issue? Thanks for your wonderful reviews.

I like eufy because you don't have to pay a monthly fee. We've had good luck with their cameras in the past so we ordered a couple 330's with the solar and a few 300's for indoors along with a 1 tb ssd for the base station.

Update review: I have had the Wifi Eufy Cam 3 system for about 15 months. Overall camera's (4G),and control center work well. The only problem that I have experienced was with the front door camera (lots of use) that went bad. Eufy has 1yr guarantee and the camera died at 14 months. They do not fix these camera so you have to purchase another and discard the camera. I had to purchase a new camera with no special discount given their camera was faulty. I will continue to monitor the rear door and it's life expectancy. Depending on the camera life cycle these units could get expensive over time. Basically, it cost about $179. for replacement camera after purchasing the control center with 2 camera's for $446 last year.

Love to see their "starlight sensor" compared to the wyze 3 to see if it is doing comparable low light color vision. It sure doesn't look like with these samples. Also hope they consider making POE cameras so that you can do 24x7 recording and use them on 2+story homes where you aren't going to deal with trying to break out the ladder every few months to deal with charging (no the solar won't stop this in many climates and in many configs where it isn't exposed to sunlight much if at all (especially not under the eves).

they make cheap solar panels on amazon and gutter mounts too for under eve mounts fwiw, i believe another review said this cam is compatible with 3rd party panels through usb. it obviously wont be as elegant as the in cam panel though. personally not as worried about 24x7 recording as i am a long live view time, one of the worst features of my blink cams is they only let you view live for maybe 15s before you have to press continue. i like my poe reolink because i could watch it forever if i wanted in theory

For me one of the things that is a concern to me is whether the Wifi signal will reach the corner of the house where I would want to put these. I am not sure you covered the connectivity. Do the cameras need to connect to wifi or do they only need to connect to the base station through a separate connection?

Also don't have any ghosting issues on my eufycam 2 pros in colour mode with spot light so why does it happen with this newer model Guess i won't bother upgrading my hub or cameras then, pretty disappointed

Looks very promising, but I can’t believe Eufy is ignoring the reset button security flaw. It was mentioned here in several comments. Not sure which is worse, the security flaw or Eufy ignoring the issue along with every customer inquiry. If there is an answer can you please share or point to it? Is it possible you could get us an answer? Do you have an opinion? Are you ok with this issue? Seems like a show stopper.
