Clever young man, go through everything to see what is there and buy in materials only as needed. Also he kept some of the 100 year old wood if it’s safe and can be reused … good he was sympathetic to it older look. A truely modern home would be out of place.💖🇦🇺

Ich finde die arbeiten an den Häusern immer sehr beruhigend. Es werden immer sehr schöne Häuser und Gärten. Nur schade das sie es nicht zeigen wenn es fertig ist. Sondern immer nur ein kleinen teil. Schade ich würde mir sehr gerne alles ansehen. / I always find working on the houses very reassuring. There are always very beautiful houses and gardens. Just a shame they won't show it when it's done. But always just a small part. Too bad I would love to see everything.

I really love to watch these video's and I keep hoping this one will be the one that is completed. It's such a beautiful land not to be be a finished job! Such hard work to not see their skills too not see how perfection is really so beautiful for these men who have worked long and hard. I know I'm going to be disappointed if it's not completed but it won't be the first nor the last disappointment has found me again!

I enjoy watching the talent , respect, and hard work put into these videos. Although I don't understand some of their traditions, I wonder about their process of old and new material, young and old laborers, and their uses of symbols throughout. I sincerely wish to see one home finished and lived in! Why go thru all that intensive labor and never complete it? Fascinating and beautiful culture.

A huge work! It was very interesting to watch your way to cover a roof... Similar and different from what we do for renovations...To use an undercover made of straw and soil will be pretty good for the thermic isolation! This typical old village will be awesome ...The nature, the cliffs...the stone houses....I long to watch the final result! Was good not to accelerate the video... Самой бы хотелось многое выяснить, очень красивые места, но, вряд ли кто ответит, они ведь и читать по нашему не умеют, а гугл, такой переводчик, что только догадываться можно о чем идет речь, тем более, что наш язык для них похуже, чем для нас их, китайский.

铺瓦用泥不只是防冻，还防风，北方冬天刮大风很厉害的。南方铺瓦从不用泥，直接就搭在椽子上，这样容易排湿气，沿海的经常刮台风，也只是用条石压着，房子五十年是没问题的。不过现在盖房用瓦片的越来越少，就是用也是用钢瓦。这用墨汁染色看起来有点可笑，可能连师傅自己也说不出缘由，原本用的应该是草泥灰拌的泥糊，这样黑色的可以吸收很多阳光，屋瓦下的泥会干得更快，也利于房子的保温。南方的白墙乌瓦的建筑就是用草泥灰

That is a lot of weight on that old structure. The mortar is not compatible with the weight ratio mathematically nor theoretically. I hope the water purity plus the weight distribution multiplied by the weight of the individual and collective tiles is going to hold up over the time factor of the earthquake frequency don't make all that hard work of those wonderful folks futile.

Where are the people that used to live in these homes? They leave all their personal items behind, even their documents. 🤔
