Put the kit together today, the instructions on the Rennline PDF for the initial placement of the stud at 30 ft-lbs is great. Getting the final assembly and torqueing of the square nut was lacking. I finally figured it out, place the double nuts back on like you did for the initial stud torqueing, then reverse your torque wrench like you are going to loosen the top nut, with a wrench on the square nut, torque it to the 18 ft-lbs. Hope this helps others having the same dilemma.

I mentioned the WEVO semisolid mounts I'd installed on my Cayman S in comments for the 986 video, but couldn't remember the wrench size required for the center bolt at the time. I see you were using a 19 mm and guess I did also, but I had to get a spline wrench for that nut. To be able to loosen the nut I locked 2 wrenches together so I'd have the leverage to get it to turn and come off. Hope this helps in the future, as you don't need to remove the transmission mounts. All the mounting bolts help lock the mount in place to avoid it rotating.

Great video as always! Did you get a chance to shift while hard on the gas? Any noticeable difference in the shifting feel and action?

+Jermaine Buie thanks man! Of course :). I didn’t notice much difference, but to be fair, I already have the numeric shift kit installed which is amazing 😻

you should mark the bolts with the torque marking paint/pen stuff so you know where the bolt was turned to in case some time in the future they need inspecting and to make sure the bolts haven't backed off. this should be done on virtually all torgued bolts that are seldom seen or adjusted .i.e. not wheel nuts for example, but all suspension nuts/bolts. also drive the car a bit then check the torques again to make sure they are settled before marking them. this last step can be inconvenient but worth doing.

I need help adding a traction control switch to my car so I can disable traction control and I was wondering if you knew what all I would need to do this? Because I see where you can buy the switch but I don’t know if the switch is plug in play or if I have to buy a certain module to put in with the switch

I believe in one of your earlier videos on transmission mounts, you said NOT to remove the mount from the bracket when it is off the car because you will bend the bracket. Is this something to be worried about?

he visto que haces mal el desmontaje dos veces, si te fijas el brazo cerca de la base es cuadrado es para que uses una llave allí

@@HelpMeDIY all right you can always try google translate. But let me try in my words: if look at the arm close to the base it has a square form very close to where the top nut is. So if you take an expansion key and grab it from there you wont bend the arm

  • @plus790

You have faceted sides right under the nut, why are you grabbing by the bracket? Put that in the vise or at least get an open end wrench on it. Zero risk of bending the plate section then.
