Ikr. Actually I found out (after observing for quite some time) that adults and children both do the same thing but with different goals. Children want fun. Anything that shatters it is sad for them. Adults want a good life. Anything that shatters it makes them sad. Both of them follow the same concept. All humans follow this concept. Interesting LOL. Now should I mention that season 3 is coming?

@@mohammadfakhoury1187 Having grown up in a rural community and having gone through similar i'd say it's more about finally having found someone her age that she can relate to and become close friends with only to have that friend ripped away.

aspenGF8 2 months ago, when I arrived to my country and entered a new school, I actually found some people who became close friends to me. And one of them is leaving our school next year, it's really sad TBH. At least I get to enjoy my time with him this year. And this event is basically the same as yours and renge's. Everytime I listen to any of the music in this anime. My heart begins to IDK... Ummm overfeel I guess.

The ridiculously long pause after the Grandmother shuts the door is what makes this such a good scene.

This is actually very realistic if you think about it. Kids processing something slowly but they have a really good imagination so she still thinking about what just happened but she's also imagining that she will never see honoka again and lost her forever in that long pause, then she just realize that and start crying while the memories of them playing together that yesterday flowing in her mind.

the reason renge is so precious is the fact she is lonely, she doesn't have friend with the same age..

Watching this scene really got to me because it reminded me of all the times I would make friends as a kid just to leave them behind after a year due to how often my family moved. I remember being around Renge’s age playing with a friend one summer and not being able to see them again.

That one little squeak is what REALLY sells it. I swear I haven't seen such effective use of still shots in animation since Evangelion.

The moment I heard the music, my heart broke and I cried for renge. It felt like I just wanted to give her a hug and till her she will be back and she will play all day with you

Renge is one of the best characters in anime history, IMO

It's sad when this happens as a kid. Because there is nothing you can do or say to change things like this. When you get older, you have more options available to you.

That's how you build a proper emotion curve for true drama: silence and time long enough for climactic ending

Names like "Tyler" mean "Tiler" and Smiths descend from smiths. So, if you're implying it's dumb, English is no better. Family names, again like English, typically indicate a certain group of people such as clans, occupation, kingdom, city, village, etc.

It's likely the kanji that makes up their name, but that's all it is. It represents pronunciation. There may have been meaning in the far past, but nowadays it's just Ishikawa/石川. It's like translating any other name in any other language. The name is just a name, though it could be based off something in the past.
