I’m honestly surprised that no one, not even Nostalgia Critic, mentioned that Brendan Fraser almost _died_ during the hanging scene. According to Rachel Weisz, he passed out and actually had to be resuscitated.

Correction: In the Thebes prologue, the foreground FXs (including the Sphinx & Plaza) were actually practical miniature effects by George Lucas' Industrial Light & Magic, with some real people (especially the lady walking her pet dog) digitally add-ed in the shot, and the wall next to the kneeling guards as Pharoah Seti I rode by in his chariot was a real wall shot on location in Morocco and combined with the visuals. It was just given a digitally recoloring to make it look like it is on a sunset.

Now 90% of the people here are gonna be talking about a controversy that was already known, instead of talking about the actual video.

The Mummy 1999 is an Underrated Flick. It's not a bad film at all, it's an entertaining Flick with some great action sequences and great visual effects. I watched it tons as a kid and a teenager and always enjoyed it, Re-watched it recently as an adult and still think the same about it.

11:08, that needs to be a parody movie. I even have a pitch for one. The Mummy's Back! Similiar to something like Son of Frankenstein. Bruce Cambell as the main character, an archeologist searching the tomb. For some reason I imagine Benedict Cumberbatch as Imotep. Hank Azaria as Benny. And obviously Mel Brooks as the director, (hopefully he's still alive to do another movie).

Bruce Campbell as Thanos..... Billy Zane as Ansem Seeker of Darkness as Galactus. Catherine Zeta-Jones as the second Madame Webb (Julie Carpenter). Well damn I really want Bruce Campbell as Kraven the Hunter as well. Maybe Cary Elwes as Walter Hardy, the father of Black Cat, Felicia Hardy

​​​​@@96ncharles I'd honestly buy Bruce Campbell more as the alternate white Nick Fury, before Samuel L. Jackson's Ultimate Marvel Nick Fury. What with his work as Ash Williams and Jack Styles from Jack Of All Trades, it makes more sense than David Hasselhoff. Still, it's too bad we'll never know what his Mysterio would've been like in Sam Raimi's Spider-Verse.

This is in my top ten all time favorite films. A combination of being a child of the 80-90’s, the wonderful combo of humor and adventure, and just a movie that doesn’t take itself seriously! Frasier was perfect in this, and I can’t see it being anyone else. My issues with this commentator is he strikes me as someone who is completely in apple of enjoying a film just for the joy of it. Not everything has to be a life changing moment, and you can truly just ENJOY a film without having to have deeper meaning. This model of film is gone now, the enjoyment of just an action adventure with a simple, fun story. I’ll end my saying, this critic is a freaking self important putz.

Funny thing, actually...Criminals typically weren't mummified. In fact, it's unlikely that anyone was mummified alive - mummification was a means of preserving Egypt's most respected people after they died. Also, the heart was actually left in the body (so Anubis can weigh it).

if they are true, I do think Doug needs to say something, but at the same time, it doesn't make him a monster. and it doesn't make him any less of a good content creator. People do stupid things some times, people often forget that their idols are still humans.

Even for the people who do care, it's pretty ridiculous to get upset over. Literally every company has that kinda crap (assuming it's even true) in some capacity, so the only way to successfully stop these types problems from appearing is to shut down all businesses permanently, which is obviously asinine. Whatever jobs those employees move on to will be just as bad, if not worse, because that's just how life works. In all likelihood the employees exaggerated their grievances to elicit more sympathy, because people are just more likely to acknowledge a house suffering through a two-story flood than they are if it's just got a leaking roof, and again, this is assuming that the employees aren't lying outright. To make matters worse, that long letter infected a lot of people with a bad case of confirmation bias. They spent too long effectively reading "Channel Awesome is the Devil" with no arguments being presented for the contrary that now it's that much harder for any such arguments to even register in their minds as actual possibilities and so they just shut them out and instead focus only on details that make them seem more guilty. As a result, these people will see it as an affront to justice if Doug and the rest of Channel Awesome aren't incarcerated for the rest of their lives, even if all they have against them is the words of a bunch of disgruntled employees who may in fact be lying through their teeth. The truth is that this is not something for the fans to deal with. If the employees want to do something about it, they should try suing them. If they don't want to do that, then they can just suck it up and work at a shitty job they hate like the rest of us, or since their already no longer employed there, they can quit and go to work at OTHER shitty jobs they'll hate.

Overall I feel NC was too hard on The Mummy. The whole review seemed to be him complain about bad CGI (no shit its 20 years old, at the time it was fine) and talking about how much he dislikes Brendan Frasier

Well, Imhotep did just come back from the dead, with many parts of his organs gone so he could have just been running on primitive instincts. But maybe after he regained his intelligence that he had mistaken her for being the reincarnation of Anck or some descendant of her.

They said in the commentary that originally Imhotep was supposed to have bad eyesight from taking Burn's eyes (who needs glasses) so he mistakes Evy for Anck. I personally see it as he needed fresh organs to revive Anck, and Evy was the first woman he saw. He didn't have time to actively search for someone else, and always addressed her as Anck because he saw Evy as the woman who would bring his love back to life. I also think he was disoriented in the first film and bit and I wouldn't blame him for immediately not recognising Evy as the reborn Neferetri. That's it. Again all personal opinion. What's yours?

I agree from majority of all the mummy movies I’ve ever seen in my lifetime I really don’t know why they thought it was needed to have another remake of The Mummy (1999) because like seriously there’s nothing better than that movie. Brendan Fraser played it true through all three The Mummy films I wish they hadn’t changed the female who plays the wife in the third one, I’m curious what happened to the first actress who played the role in the first & second Mummy.

It's not NC so much as it is channel awesome itself. They have been accused of a multitude of things. Really it's not even Doug walkers fault (but he's not a saint in this either) it's the CEO mike michauds fault. He's just a terrible person (allegedly)
