I've always said if they ever came up with time travel, I'd go to when The Empire Strikes Back first came out just to see everyone's reaction.

SirJedi Sentinel In order to reach time travel speeds, we would need to exceed light speed. So, in theory, you could go back in time and move vast distances: thus, personally, I would travel back a long long time ago to a galaxy far, far away.

+Xanos Knightshade Exceeding lightspeed only makes one travel forwards in time. The concept of travelling BACK in time doesn't even exist as a proven concept in science or theoretical physics.

Fun fact: Toy Story 2 almost didn't exist. During production nearly all of the work was accidentally deleted and Disney (who was the Eisner empire at the time) refused to allow Pixar to push the release date. They were only saved due to the fact that Galyn Susman, the technical director who was working from home due to a newborn child, had saved backups of all assets on her computer.
24:20 Sadly, I was introduced to this twist via the scene parodying it in _Toy Story 2_ , so I never got to feel the same impact as these kids. I'll admit it was a decent dose of referential humour, but definitely *not* the best way to be introduced to that bit.
Two Towers is rough!?! According to freaking who??

Exactly, that beginning and ending were fucking amazing
The How To Train Your Dragon sequels were really good.
Nostalgia Critic is wrong about T2 keeping its plot twist secret. Sure, the teasers didn't tell you anything. But the first official trailer revealed that Patrick was the bad guy and Arnold the good guy. Nothing annoyed me more than that at the time. I wish I had been able to go into that theater and be surprised by that big twist. It wasn't Cameron's fault though, but the studio's.

Totally. As I grew up I realized that that movie was directed to make you think that at first Arnold was the bad guy and then reveal the twist.

The entire Metroid series is heavily inspired by Alien. Ripley wearing just her underwear under a bulky spacesuit is what inspired the ending of the NES game.
"Top 11 Nostalgic Mind-F*CKS" Should be next!
I don't have a problem with the many endings of "Return of the King". It had to wrap up three long and epic movies and even in the book, they established the future of most of the main characters. They didn't even bring up the future of the Shire in the movies. And Movies like Star Wars Episode III did similar things to establish all important characters for Episode IV.
I once saw a Q&A with Harrison Ford and he goes "ok no more Star Wars questions" and as he was saying this a GUY dressed as Princess Leia was walking up to the mic and then drops all his note cards and hesitates then just goes "whaaaaatss....your favorite.....color" Harrison Ford responded with just brown and the guy walked away.
The actual fucking reaction starts at 3:35

11:09 Toy Story 2 was the FIRST fimfilmI ever saw in theaters -- and that opening BLEW ME AWAY for the realism that Buzz Lightyear became like
Next review should be either The Legend of the Titanic or the Star Wars Holiday Special.
T2 judgement day for me, I loved toy story 2. dark knight, yes agreed with number one!.
16:50 how dare you sir?? Two Towers is a damn good movie with awesome figting & offcouse Battle for Helms Deep man!! Movies are subjective but what the hell??
River Phoenix played Harrison Ford's son in The Mosquito Coast and held his own extremely well. That's why he was cast as Young Indy.
I was shocked Dark Knight wasn't top 3 and that Captain America: The Winter Soldier wasn't on this list
Star Wars Episode V The Empire Strikes Back was, is, and will always be the best/greatest movie sequel of all time.

Notice how many times Doug says "take and/or took it to a new level" when discussing these movies. That in itself should tell new filmmakers something about how to create quality sequels as well as specifically why these titles are praised.
Winter Soldier i think would have earned a lower spot on the list and if not that maybe in the top 20. it was a huge improvement. the last crusade defiantly should have been in it and fairly high. if you count it as the man with no name trilogy then the Good the Bad and the Ugly should be on the list too. perhaps with that Sanjuro for a foreign film. fist full of dollars from the man with no name trilogy was based off Yojimbo.
I wonder....what would happen if they mixed an Alien Isolation set up...with the Metroid series Hell, I would love to see Riply and Samus team up at least
17:42 - Have you read the books? The ending in the movie was shortened significantly.
are you guys ever gonna stream more Broforce
Would you kindly give me a link to that RWBY OC?
Nostalgia Critic Rogue One or Labyrinth pls
Really cool fact, in the first Godfather movie, there is a line: "In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns." Well, in Godfather Part 2, we witness Vito's mother sacrificing herself in front of a shotgun to allow him to escape. And years later, Vito returned to get vengeance, giving more meaning and weight to that very line.
Isn't it funny that Elena is wearing a Star Wars shirt when The Empire Strikes Back was number one?
i wish I could have seen Star Wars before knowing the twist.
Back to the Future II anyone?

My only problem with this list is that it's mostly the same as all the other lists online. If you search top movie sequels, you will see at least 6 or 7 of the same movies on every single list. I'm not saying any of these are bad films, but what's the point of making the same list as all the other websites?

Nostalgia Critic Top 11 Villain Songs?
The main reason why people even consider the Bride of Frankenstein to better than the first movie is because the sequel seemed to focus more on the theme from the book. The story from the book is so much more complex and better than the movie, making you question who is the REAL monster in the story? It is by far one of my favorite fictional books because the portrayal of the creature is strangely so human. It may not know everything when it was created but it shows itself to be both intelligent and a capable learner. The first movie only made the creature evil and uncontrollable which kinda misrepresents what the book was trying to tell. The sequel fixed that by finally having the audience come to the question; is the creature truly the monster/villain in this story? Or is it a victim of violation against nature itself. Even in the book the creature becomes aware of what it is and it makes you feel absolutely sorry for it even more.
22:55 George Lucas also didn’t write the sequels and look how they turned out
Okay I don't get the hate for Star Trek into darkness it was wrath of Kahn made for people who never seen the original movies and switched some things around like Spock yells Kahn instead of Kirk and the action was awesome
