I think all true wrestling fans want it to do well. It only benefits us as fans. Sadly we fell into the tribalism trap. I remember people being WWF or WCW in the 90s but not this hard. And they were actually competing against each other.

The easiest way to escape that trap is to remember it's all about the performers and not the promotions. I like Wrestlers from almost every company but I'm not big on how AEW books their deeply talented roster. I'm really enjoying WWE but I do worry about them falling into their own trap in making their shows all about a certain faction and also having talent casted aside. But that's easy to do in any promotion. I want to see AEW succeed. I do. They were the MVP of the Pandemic in my opinion. But Tony has got to realize what he's doing is not working. He needs help because he has too much on his plate. He's got the people. He needs to utilize them and realize that AEW is not just about him and The Bucks. That's not how things work. It takes everyone to make a show work.

Nobody is against aew. Their product is shit. The only aew wrestlers I want to see is mjf Christian Edge and Joe. Full stop.

It's a 5 year old company that had a pandemic in the middle of it with no fans to attend the shows, and yet they're STILL going despite that, and aren't going anywhere because they're financially backed heavily by a multi-billionaire who views it as a passion project. Give it some time, and give Tony some time too.

I always say this, it is total tribalism. Like there's genuinely people out there hoping they go out of business and shit, which they won't obviously, but the fact that they care that much is astounding.

You should check out the rampage ratings, cause I don't think I've seen this big of a drop in ratings ever.

It's a 5 year old company, ratings will drop and go up and drop and go up... Wrestling is just starting to become very popular again, the more WWE draws in, the more there will be people going and looking for more of it, and realising they like hardcore wrestling, and being attracted to AEW because of it. It happens.

My gf was a Nielsen ratings participant for a few years. You get $100 or so a month to be monitored for your TV watching habits. Nielsen does ask during shows (on the screen) if the same amount of people are still watching the show. So,in essence, 3 people in the house could be watching AEW,but if 2 people leave the room (but the show stays on the TV), that counts against the actual rating

Wrestling fans arent smart enough to comprehend AEW and WWE are the same brand & Only exist to have both FANS at each other, Cause both AEW & RAW/SD have the worst VIEWERSHIP RATINGS OF ALL TIME, Whenever fans argue: AEW IS BETTER, NO, WWE IS BETTER, Who benefits?? (WRESTLING OR THE FANS??)

Jericho is still wrestling?. He must be pushing 55 by now. Adam “Edge” is also pushing 50. What’s up with AEW relying on old farts? They have enough younger talent.

Jim cornette pushes the tribalism and nonsense between it because of his loyalty to WWE and it spreads to other people who think they have to think exactly like him to be a true wrestling fan, when in reality he's a douchebag. I don't care who gets what ratings, I watch every AEW show and every WWE show cause the stuff is entertaining, it's not a real sport, it's scripted and fake entertainment, enjoy it for what it is instead of getting into tribal battles. It's like Dexter fans getting into fights with fans of the show YOU, we all know Dexter is a classic and has been around for longer, some people like that more, but they're literally just TV shows, why would you be so desperate for one of them to go off the air just because you don't like it?

Cornette is not a Tribalist. If you knew his history of his time there and his real life issues with Russo you'd know he still harbors some issues there. Cornette just takes Pro Wrestling serious. It's been his life for 45 years. He knocks AEW not just to do it. Believe me he wants it to work. It just bugs him and everyone else that as much as Tony wants to do things different than Vince, he's actually doing it with the same mindset. Vince is a control freak. Tony has become one. Neither men want to change the only major difference is Vince surrounds himself with yes men and Tony takes advice from the wrong Indy guys who have their heads up their ***es. There's not a world or universe that exists in which someone should take advice from guys from Receta over guys who have done it on far larger platform.
