For anyone considering to buy this car and wanting to know how it handles long distances, remember there are a few of very important factors that influence range: speed, temperature and climbs. I did some journeys on the new Zoe and I could average around 160 Wh/km with three people + baggages and AC (at 30°C outside temp). You can do this by doing around 110 in flat terrain and 85-95 on climbs depending on how steep they are. It's not the fastest but I feel it's the best compromise between speed and low number of charging stops.

I have a Renault Zoe GT Line on a bargain 2 year personal lease whilst I wait for Tesla Berlin to be completed. The Zoe is a great small car but 70 mph is thirsty, 60 mph (100 km/hr) is better. I don't drive more than a round trip of 60 miles. The problem I have is that I find it's acceleration very addictive. The Zoe starts to bombard you with loads of messages once you drop below 10% battery. I am enjoying driving the Zoe which I first drove back in 2012. I will be joining the queue for either the new small hatchback Tesla or a Model 3 at the end of July 2022.

Nice video of this adventure! I think that you should drop your speed to 100 km/u in a car like this. You will gain many kilometers on a battery charge and the time you may loose by going 'slow', you'll save certainly 1 to 2 stops because you haven't got to recharge as much.

Hi, I can share mine here: I am driving 1300km trips 2x per year with an old, but comfy petrol car and I usually did it in 14-16hours. Most of the routes are highways (98% 120-130kmh).We are two drivers and changing every 2-3hours with 15-30mins breaks. I know that it's not a super car, but in case we want to compare, It is a good example to understand, that moderns EVs (from top of the Bjorn's list) are no more limitation in terms of "loosing time by charging", because even if ICE don't needs to be "charged" every 200-300km, driver (drivers) needs a break of 15-30mins every 2-3h, because to drive an ICE is such a tiring and noisy job!

Me too. Pick mine up next week. Although from what I've seen from other UK users it gets very low charging speeds when cold. There does seem to have been an issue with an update to address timed charging. The car wouldn't wake in the night to take advantage of lower cost electricity. Since the update users have been getting around 30kw peak charging on rapids. Might just be coincidence, happening along side colder weather but for a car that's supposed to be able to reach 80kw peak it's quite disappointing.

It's only about 5% of CCS chargers that need a hand - take the weight of the cable off the plug. The pins inside get loose if they have been heavily used.

You are right about Q8, it's another way to write Kuwait, which is pronounced kʊˈweɪt. A thought: if you drive within speed limit, you will spend less kW, and less time for charging. Which could save time at the end. Or? Anyhow: thanks for publish the tour, it is very interresting! :-)

So im looking at the new e-up or the Skoda citigo or Renault Zoe. The Renault is much more expensive though. I have a Renault 41kwh today... What would you have choosen Björn? I kind of like the E-up....

As a swede i would say we are a bit hippocratic. We say safety is number one priority, we make the safest cars, have the safest environment and no one should die on swedish roads ("zero vision"). And still the 110km/h limit is more just like guidelines, there is really no speed limit ;)

Greetings from Canada 🍁 and enjoying your vlog on the Zoey EV. The temperature in my town is currently -36 C which means EV driving range will be significantly affected. Then there's drain on the battery pack with the heater on at full and the longer distances between cities (and charging stations). Factor in the higher initial cost of EVs, the long charging times, the adverse effect of cold weather, the potential bottlenecks at charging stations, the unsuitability for long trips and the purchase equation still doesn't add up....here's to the next generation of EVs with improved battery technology.

Agree... ~70km/h of effective average speed with a stop every 100km is appalling. I'm in the market for a new car and was undecided between a Sandero or Clio with the 100HP LPG engine, or the Zoe. The Zoe is significantly more expensive (especially than the Sandero), and based on what I'm seeing it's not only 50% slower, but also more expensive to operate. Guess I'm gonna have to pass and stick with the liquified dinosaur gas option for another decade.

I’m surprised how slow it was. Couldn’t it do more than 140km approx between charges? Thought would be able to do fine with that size battery from full as you started around 200-220km at that temperature (120-140miles). Was that first stop really needed? And it seems that you were taking your time... maybe due to slower charging I guess?

"people expect 100 kw in 2023" , the only thing is that this power duration lasts only a few moments to descend under the value shown on the charger after the battery hits 40 % ... So the average charge speed is faster on the zoe as it hits 43 kw from 0 to 65 % of the battery charged ...
