First look at the Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric at the Geneva International Motor Show 2024.
Renault have brought back their iconic 5 model as an EV, not only does it have nostalgic, funky, retro styling, it is also priced at an affordable estimated £25,000, this under-cuts cars such as the Fiat 500 Electric and Honda e, whilst offering more space and range.
With clever tech like VTG capabilities, this supermini is pretty smart too! I was also impressed with the interior which felt decent enough quality for the price and was also packed with personality as with the exterior.
The biggest stand at the show was Renault, with interactive sections showcasing their 'Reno' avatar. I'm throughly looking forward to this coming over to the UK next year!

I love pop green 💚 Although not as keen on the green interior Prefer what’s been shown inside the pop yellow 💛 Great video Sam 👏🏼

I've been working in car jorunalism for close to 10 years now. The media industry, especially here in Austria, is changing a lot and is full of old journalists. And all they can do, is to moan about that there are no young people that are interessted in cars and journalism. Well, here is the perfect example, that there is! You talk freely and by the looks of it, didn't use any notecards, know what you are doing, showed us not the car (very detailed btw), but also the stand (this sculpture thing and this Reno-thingy). By the looks of it, you where there at a normal visitors-day, and not on the press-day. I hope the Renault PR team in the UK will notice you. And if you ever are in Austria, let me know. I might be able to arrange a R5 for you too review ;) Keep up the excellent work!

What a lovely comment! I believe there are many young people going into the industry over here so it’s surprising to hear it’s not so popular in Austria, maybe I should move there! That’s right, in my full length reviews I usually have a list of specs, colours engines etc that I can look at but most of it is by memory. I was at GIMS on the “VIP” day which was the day after press day but was available for members of the public. I’ve spoken with the UK Renault PR team and got approached by the French PR team at the show, which was great to have spoken with them. Are you on LinkedIn? Excellent review, well done. This car is very much on my radar. Like you, I'm torn between Midnight Blue and Pop Yellow, though I'll probably go blue with the gold trim if I order one. Keep up the good work.

Thank you Darren! I love both colours I think the Pop Yellow really has that ‘wow factor’ of the concept car but the Midnight Blue has a really classy more timeless look and still fun with the pop of gold, both are great options! Do let me know what you decide on, more videos on the way 😄
