This is a heavy show that deals with some heavy themes but I have to say Renata provides some valued comic relief, although I wouldn't dare get on her bad side if she existed in real life

I couldn't stand her in season one as she was horrible to Shailene's character but season 2 I couldn't be more relatable due to her lying husband and having so much anger for what happened to her. Laura Dern really was insane but hilarious and made Renata an icon.

I love this fucking show. Especially this character.. honestly. Her (Renata) and Madeline are like my Moon and Sun. Madeline is calculating and Strategic in her methods, while Renata practically bulldozes anyone and anything in her path.. with good reason of course. Seeing them settle their rivalry and become friends, was probably the best scene from Season One. ^_^

Nooo you left out “the fucking nannyyyyyy” from that car fight. Whole scene was iconic. Great compilation.

No one can perform a meltdown like Laura Dern, but I think she’s brilliant in the smaller, subtler moments.

Her character is incredibly relatable.. And that my friends is about when I checked myself into therapy.

She's the best.

Although in season 1 renata was painted to be a mean she turned out to be one of the best characters. I never blamed her for being mad that her daughter was being bullied I liked her more when she realized she was wrong to treat them like that.

I just finished season 2 Today. I feel zoey got much more screen time This season than the first . The first season with Renata, i think it feels like we saw her more only because she was brought in as a side edition with madeleines and janes story.. But in season 2, Renata gets her own Story with the bankruptcy and all
