    @@davidtan8247 She went looking elsewhere for fulfillment because she couldn't find it in her relationship with Ed. For her to say "it's not about you" is incredibly selfish and perfectly illustrates how little she thinks of him. Yes, *her* actions ruined the marriage but it is absolutely 100% about *both* of them.

    Atlantis Stars - The thing is that we, as people, have very little tolerance for men being violent to women despite us having lots of immoral tolerance for women being violent to men. So, this screenwriter brilliantly made the choice to keep Ed restrained so that the viewers would not lose sympathy for him.

    I think it's really significant when Ed said, "My daughter--and, yes, I do think of her as a daughter..." because this show has mostly focused on the relationships between biological parents and their children. I had an eerily similar "Ed" experience and, trust me, this scene nails it. The half-hearted, no-tear apology... the "it's about me" excuses... Madeline wanting to know what Ed is thinking after years of keeping secrets... the sudden desire to seek counseling after the damage is done. Best of all... Ed's pain being driven by the loss of trust rather than the physical affair. Brilliant!

    When Madeline said it wasn’t about him, it was about her she was right. Ed’s the picture perfect husband- he’s kind, he’s caring, he’s loving, everything. But Madeline has shown that she’s the one with the issues, and what sucks the most is Ed is there throughout all of them. She’s still in love with her ex husband, and kinda compares Ed to her ex. Even after it’s been 15 years. This affair with the director was just the cherry on top of the cake. Madeline is a good friend at times, yes. But she is a narcissistic, self absorbed, and selfish character. In terms of her family all she cares about is herself, and what she wants. From her daughter saying she wanted to basically do a non profitable charity that builds houses for the poor, and yelling at her for that. To taking her daughter to Disney on ice instead of a birthday party that her daughter said she wanted to go to. All over a vendetta against another mom. To cheating on her husband who adores, and loves her just like any woman would dream. To still loving her ex even though he still has a new wife, and daughter. All while comparing her new husband to her old ex. She’s honestly the worst character.

  • @Gucciacid

    @Gucciacid

    5 жыл бұрын

    The only time she has redeemable qualities is with her friends, and even then what she did with her exes wife was selfish. The girl was right, she would’ve gotten off in the matter of self defense and there was six eye witnesses. But she said one thing, and everyone else followed. Now she has to live with a dirty secret that she can’t even tell anybody about. And Madeline is like “you can talk to us about it” like that’s not the point. lol.

Things maybe hard but you are not the only one in a relationship... Why are trying to get a revenge for nothing!? I think people like this are just selfish... "I only need physical pleasure, I still love my husband /wife, it's a one time thing, everything is normal".. This doesn't work...
