The easiest way to classify Band Maid is just to call it Band Maid. They’re very distinct in their sound. Just Band Maid doing Band Maid things.

When miku n psyche vocally attack i call it their forming po!tron , band maids 6th weapon , reminds me of lane staley n jerry cantrell , the way their harmonies worked , funny enough jerry tricked lane into joing alice , as miku tricked psyche into joining band maid

I am so glad that you noticed the "light breakdown" I thought it was Koto at first but it may have been sitar, both traditional string instrument. And the way Saiki goes falsetto that sounds like vocal trill that I often hear in Indian music adds a lot. (and again you were the first one to recognise that) And Miku! She is a great rhythm guitarist who can elevate the Band. This song really has the strong ethnic vibe that their other recent anime songs didn't. I absolutely love it.

There's a song "Blooming" by Band-Maid you should check out if you like Miku/Saiki harmonies. As for just a collab between the two working off each other there's "Hibana" and "Corallium". You can find both on "Instrumental Maids" channel LIVE at Shibuya Eggman. I know you'll love them, if not I'll return your money. At LIVE shows, I know here in the US when they were touring last year the fans went absolutely WILD when Miku holds her two long notes in "Hibana"....really fun to watch.

I love it when musicians (professional or otherwise) want to react to a group like Band-Maid. To me, that they respect and show appreciated these talented and professional young Japanese female rockers. I'm just hoping more aspiring female musicians begin to appreciate the inspiring and sometimes groundbreaking artistry and sounds that bands like Band-Maid create. To hell with all the big haired new boy bands out there. They don't rock anywhere near as hard or as proficiently as these female groups do.

Bands like Band-Maid, The Warning, and Lovebites really know the importance of having white space in the songs.

I am moving my sculpting into the 3d realm and, if all goes well, I'm thinking of doing a whole series of sculptures of modern rock women. Of course all of the Warning, but also some of Band-Maid and others. We'll see how it goes.

Spiced rum sounds good and that sculpture is amazing. Like, actually. Good call on turning off the captions. Band-Maid songs are so full of detail that I find it impossible to take everything in and read at the same time. This is what a lot of Band-Maid fans love about them. You can listen to the song and enjoy the nice melodies and catchiness, but each listen reveals more and more. Like the guitar riffs you mentioned missing the first time through. Regarding the lyrics, this song is written for a robot fighting anime so the lyrics were written to fit that. And of course a lot is lost in translation, but a Japanese speaker is better to comment on that than I am. As for the chaotic editing on their videos, 90% of their videos are like that. Just a heads up haha.

Thanks for supporting the Maids and your breakdown and analysis. We agree on the genre thing, as the Maids mix and match at will in songs. We Maidiacs just say the genre is Band-Maid. Looking forward to your next reaction to the Maids. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

I have always felt that Saiki was holding back in the studio and MV tracks compared to her live vocals. That seems to be going away with the last several releases.

Great reaction and one part that I like is when they're in the elevator going up like crazy as the music ascends as well. Also, Kanami puts herself in the background again on this song, wish she wouldn't do that.
