The Fat Boy Slim track "Right here - Right now" is 25 years old from 1998/album version...the single version/video came out some months later in 1999

There is a lot of British references that goes over the heads of those that are not UK based, but it’s still a great track one of my favourites

Ren just dropped (Nas -half-time) retake on Thursday. 🔥 2-weeks prior he did (back on 74/message in a bottle also 🔥2 weeks prior to that he did (Fred again) mash up, all 🔥. In 2 weeks another one is coming. These have all been made 2 or 3 months ago.

Ren makes no money from retakes. It can't be monetized because he doesn't have permission to use any part of it. So he puts it out for his love of the MC, rapper or singer. So you won't find it on spotify or any streaming download. Only KZread. Of course I copy that puppy right off You Tube and add it to my play list. 😎

Ren has just said that he is going to New York sometime in April for a short break with the lads and to record a video with Chris Webby. After the interview you organised with Sam Tompkins to go on TV at your place of work. I wondered if you might be able to have Ren on your show also? Ha - other people who remember Jesus Jones! Saw them live when they were at the top with that track blowing up, so good memories. But amazed you don’t know Fat boy slim’s track - I thought that was big in America but was maybe a time you missed it or it wasn’t the hit there thought it was. It was massive here in the U.K. Also, “Fat Boy Slim” lives in Brighton too and Ren with the Big Push have done a version of another of his hits and he was walking past seeing them perform it busking, and he shouted them out by stopping to film them himself and uploaded it to his social media saying he enjoyed it.

‘Praise you’! That one we knew.. There a large gap of music I missed when I was raising kids - I was listening to stuff I knew and not branching out too much. Probably fell somewhere in that time frame. I think when I was young I could find new music really easily. Mid aged it got rough for a while. Somewhere between Napster and torrents. Now it’s gotten easy again thanks to reaction channels and things like KEXP.

@@secondhandreactions yep - similar, music went through the doldrums in my life, and I’d given up on “modern” music as what you hear on the mainstream is dire - but through Ren and reactors, I’ve realised there’s great music being made and it’s given me a whole new insatiable desire to find new things again. And that’s thanks a lot to reactors like you - keep it up. Very much appreciated.

At that time I was sleeping, eating, and thriving in my classroom I didn't give too much time to myself. Crazy part is we taught the timeline of living things and that was an absolute joy to see and I've gone back and watched the whole song and probably would've showed my students if I knew it existed. Loving all this new music so much!!!!

@@neighborsue yeah, I think that video might help some people get the idea of evolution, but I you might have to explain where it kinda deviates from the fossil record in places :) (Eg Puffer fish were actually much later / and it’s been a while since I watched it, but I think humans in the video overlap with creatures that had actually gone extinct…not sure now - but then, I could see how that could make a cool assignment for the kids “write an essay on where “Right Here, Right Now” video deviates from the established fossil record” :) I was too old to be in school for that, but I could imagine it being super fun and hence educational. I wonder - do you miss the rewards of teaching? Seeing that lightbulb moment in young minds?)

What is the time frame or queue wait time if I requested some Ren songs by purchasing some coffee? Just a rough estimate. Do you guys only record once a week? I've been in some of your live streams on Sunday as well.

We only record once a week usually on Sundays. And you can just request whatever songs you want here in the comments. We appreciate the support we get in buy me a coffee but we try to take requests from everywhere.

This was great Ren has 3 new retake tracks out All very different Fred again EDM dance track changed to Ren with acoustic guitar and singing Back on 74 Message in a bottle retake Think mowtown and The Police blended with a surprise in the middle its gorgeous
