Ren has had a "rising tides lift all boats" philosophy. He feels strongly about building community, and he is aware that reactors have a really unique space to help build something great.

Ren is right though. The way you break down the psychology of the lyrics is pretty unique and really kinda awesome. Keep up the good work.

Ren is bringing us into a new era of rap. I personally believe the old skool rap, with the use of "hoes, sex, gold chains, bitches, n word", is over. Maybe not for the hardcore rap fans, but for the everyday music lover. It's a new time, and hope and raw honest emotion is once again needed and appreciated. IMO❤

There's another video of Ren on twitch where he first sees all the reactions to Illest of our Time and he breaks down in tears. His humility is as great as his talent.

This is so wholesome and heart-warming. Two awesome dudes just complimenting each other for 20min straight. 😊

I’ve noticed how active Ren is with interacting with fans, reactors, and supporters in general. It’s so cool how open he is to his life. Makes his music even better.

One thing I don't agree with is that artists don't need reactors. An artist with money and record label behind them, maybe not so much. But an independent artist like Ren definitely does. It's because of you guys, whether the channels has 100 subs or 1 Million subs, that Ren is finally starting to reap what he sowed. The underground of music is on KZread. Reactors are the word of mouth. 🙌

I'll be honest, i did not like rap at all until i discovered Ren, so Ren got me into rap but you taught me about rap through your reaction vids. Between yourself and Ren you have done something that i didn't think possible and that no rap artist in the last few dacades has done and that is to make me appreciate rap. i think Ren recognises that many of us would not know him or have sought out his music if we hadn't bumped into him on a reactor's channel. I myself found out about him thanks to Elizabeth, from the charismatic voice channel. Tapping into and looping back to the reactors circuit when you find yourself on the crest of a viral wave is both smart and respectful. On one hand it must be really encouraging for him to see that so many people appreciate his work, on the other hand, he doesn't have a label, and the word of mouth service many of you provide has been vital to give him the visibility he has now. and yah, he's right.. you do seem to be one of the reactors most in tune with his references... you from the rapper/industry angle, Becca Doss from the angle of sharing a very similar medical history as Ren.

It's funny. I have a friend who caught him from Charismatic Voice and shared it with our crew. And I didn't watch 'cause I'm behind on my viewing. Definitely reaction channels is one of his biggest ways of reaching people, since he doesn't really do standard advertisement, so it's all mouth to mouth. I guess we could say that, given his choice, letting encouraging reactors to do this (and letting them know there won't be copyright strikes) is smart, but I personally think it just comes from Ren's principles, and that heu's genuinely surprised and pleased to see how many people is reacting to him and appretiating his work, I don't think he's yet accustomed to this level of recognition.

Massive respect to you both. I think it's as simple as two gentlemen who are in the same line of work seeing and respecting one another. In modern times, it's a beautiful thing. I agree that it says a lot about Ren for how much class he shows in reaching out to reactors and showing love. For someone who's been through so much, it never ceases to amaze me how kind and humble he really is. I think that the same can be said for you too. Your knowledge of rhyme and meter, not to mention production and skills with wordplay are tremendous, but I have to tell you the people that I think we all appreciate the most in life, especially for someone who just gives us layers and layers of meaning, insinuation, double entendre, etc. The guy who gets it is always appreciated. Think about this- I think Ren is about to take off into super stardom. What he did here, in my opinion is what it would be like if John Lennon sat down on an interview or at a show or something right before the Beatles blew up and said- let me show you how this guy gets it. He's a good guy and a musician himself. I really think this is like that moment. I just think this is 100% cool all the way around. The hardest are the most humble, the kindest, those who are smarter than most everyone else, but also wise enough to know that we're all equal in dignity and worth irrespective. I think you and Ren both fit that bill.

i missed Ren’s live because i was getting ready for work, but as soon as i had some downtime that night when most of my patients were sleeping (yay for night shifts) i pulled up his song and then his broadcast. his genuine and humble response to seeing there were already reaction videos to Illest up was really powerful. that he didn’t pause his feed and he let everyone see him wiping his tears away told me more about him as a person and an artist than any words could have done. and i sat there grinning like a fool the whole time he was watching you 😃 it really was just beyond wholesome, and i’m so glad that you not only watched it, but chose to share it with us 💜

Dude, yes Knox. You are doing yourself a HUGE favor checkin out his older stuff. People list the same 5 or so songs to listen to but IMO he has so many bangers that are just as good as those few we see named all the time. Also, his first band "Trick The Fox" has some very cool tunes and you can really see how he grew as an artist. His band The Big Push is also unbelievably talented, they have really good originals and also phenomenal covers.

Would be amazing if you, Black Pegasus, and all of the other artists that reacted to Ren got together and did a colab.

I went looking for reactions to Hi Ren after the first time I saw it because I wanted to see the impact it had on people just like it had on me. I think it was yours that I found first and I watched several others afterwards. But I couldn’t help thinking “I hope Ren sees Knox Hills reaction!” Because I figured it was such a great breakdown, lyrically, musically etc. So to see that Ren has seen your reactions and now reacted to one is just too cool. As artists we leave interpretation up to the audience but it must be the most rewarding feeling to see someone totally get it, even the little nuances. You mentioned that artists don't need reactors to be successful. While that might be true it certainly doesn't hurt especially for those of you that are independent. You, Ren, and Harry Mack are a few that come to mind (among others) that I found through other reactors. Platforms like this and I guess also Tik Tok are great for discovery. I'll be honest and say I was never really much of a rap person in the past, but KZread pulled me deep down the rabbit hole and it's an art form I mainly watch on here now.

I just received Ren's CDs yesterday. 🔥🔥🔥 I'm hoping I can get him to sign them one day. I'm 47 years old and I have not been this excited about a new artist in a while. (I think the last time was when I stumbled on The Pretty Reckless - another versatile band - no rap but I'm a metal guy so they are right up my alley anyway - you have to be a special rapper to get me to like your music and Ren is just that!) I didn''t watch reaction videos until Ren's stuff started doing the rounds. I've also now watched every reaction you've done to his music because you actually get a lot of the things I feel people miss. Ren is really deep. Anyone can rhyme, anyone can stitch a bunch of words together, but when it gets to multiple meanings, connected bars etc, Ren does it along with some really creative music. You pick up on it and and that makes your channel worth watching.

Knox Hawkeye Hill, you catch everything and it's satisfying for me personally that you catch what I do coz then I don't feel so insane taking symbolism too far. With Ren I have free range coz he's so well-read I have no doubt he created so many levels to read into his art. Mad respect for both of you!

This was so satisfying!!! I was wondering how you'd react watching Ren react to your reaction😁 Honestly, it's no surprise, that Ren is impressed by your breakdowns, cause they really are amazing. I've learned so much from your explanations and the stuff you catch in one listen is just out of this world. I haven't seen other rappers doing reactions catching as much as you do and understanding so many hidden meanings in one go. I mean, there are some good ones, I really like Anthony Ray and a couple of others. But you just go that extra mile, I think what makes you stand out, is your knowledge (of music, but also just cultural stuff and things going on in the world today) and your intelligence, which you bring in to these reactions. You're obviously a thinker🧐And that's exactly what it takes to breakdown lyrics and meanings from intelligent artists like Ren. Please don't be too critical with yourself, even if you might get something wrong, it's still interesting how you got to your conclusion!! Nobody is perfect, but your reactions are damn near close... (I don't think they can get ANY better, isn't that the definition of perfection?) It was very heartwarming to see you getting validation from Ren, I can understand how that is just the best compliment you can get, when the artist is impressed with how you breakdown their music.
